Ideas to shill the forum

On a somewhat related note, are the hundreds of guests we've been seeing both this afternoon and late yesterday evening a result of advertising, or is something else (hopefully not nefarious) going on? :noa-shock:

The forum has his own dedicated shill :nep-happy: but for every 500 lurkers we get, we only get one registration :a-disgust:

>1
>not 22
Looks like I'm wrong about the Pareto thing.
Still, 1 is a bigger number than 0, so it's still a win.

what're you referring to?
But yeah even now with 200-300 lurkers only 8 registered.
Ah, just referencing something I said to Valenthyne a few posts back, that pic related applies to the ratio of lurkers to members, to posters in any given forum.
Also, I'm bad at maths and realise only after the fact that 22 would have been the wrong number anyway.

I have always been more of a lurker, but after seeing bs after bs on Twitter or Reddit or whatever, I started trying to be more active by mostly replying to some people. My lurker side is quite strong, but nothing like sharing similar tastes to break some barriers... :nep:

I'd say by making unique and interesting content it would help increase the engagement of the forums. And also we should encourage users to create more threads especially if its outside from just posting cancer we see online.

I don't think places like Reddit or Twitter are good ideas to be promoting a place like this.
