Thanks for making the patch! It's much appreciated!

Though I'm confused about this last change you just made...

I mean... This isn't consistent with the Japanese text at all?

Bottom Text: あなたの分身の姿を教えてください
Upper Left: 姿選択
Upper Right: 姿切替
Upper Right (2): 戻る

The only consistent part is the "Back" part.

Everything else in Japanese is referring more to "form" or "appearance".

I thought the point of the patch was to uncensor the localization itself? Not to change the original text?
That was censorship made in development.

I'm going to fix the bottom part as its true that its way off, the other 2 are translated as other fire emblems have done in the past like the Lunatic difficulty name. Also not gonna lie this one is a fuck you to all the retards pushing the "form" and "body type" shit.
Oh, I understand where you're coming from. I do agree that it's weird to see "Form" there.

And I wasn't aware that previous Fire Emblems translated those terms like that. I honestly had never checked. Good to know.

I think you should stick to what the Japanese text says unless the devs come out and say they were forced/pressured into changing it. Otherwise you're just stooping to the level of the localizers and making up your own fanfiction.

You could always make a separate anti-woke mod, but adding those type of changes to an uncensored patch defeats the purpose.

Proof?

I think it should be optional with the patch too to keep in the spirit of the goal, but you seriously can't be arguing that the form shit isn't done out of some misguided need and pressure to appease western "sensibilities".

It was never a thing until "gender science" started to gain ground.

What do you mean "proof"? You really think all these devs starting changing 性別 to 姿 in a vacuum? It's deliberate erasure of gender spurred on by western politics.
Being influenced by western politics isn't the same as being forced/pressured into going along with western politics. It's certainly possible the devs made the change to not draw the ire of westerners (although it would be weird to do that yet leave romantic loli dialogue in) or because they were told to by higher ups, but until we know for sure it's all up to speculation.

Being pressured or merely "influenced" doesn't change the fact that it is censorship.

Omg finding that trhough the games files it's going to be a nightmare 💀

PD: Nvm it was pretty easy XD, even the Devs themselves call it "Lunatic" in the scripting...
Apreciated and even funny but if this is the way you're gonna go be as clear as you can be about it :korone-blessed:

If being influenced is your criteria for censorship them everything the devs included was censored. From the anime-inspired character designs to the medieval-styled weaponry.
None of those have the same clauses like progressive politics do though, you should stop being retarded.

I agree with this, @cris1010 I think it should be an optional patch even if we all know it should still be part of the same patch because it's still anti-censorship. :ina-blessed:
So now the criteria is "being influenced by things I don't like". Cool.
"Being influenced by censorious ideologies doesn't mean it's censored." - some retard (you)

Also, with this same argument you're making, the changed conversations aren't censorship either. You're the one assuming the writer didn't change his mind specifically for the English version. Did you speak to him about it? But wait, what if he's lying? We need an infallible mind reader, I hope you have one lying under your bed or some shit. Nigger, you're retarded.

I disagree. Trying to be reasonable is just going to help it gain ground. They didn't ask before forcing "forms" onto us, so there is no reason to try and find some middle ground by making it optional to revert.

I don't want a middle ground with any of these people it just falls outside of the scope of what the patch wants to accomplish. It's not my patch anyways so it's not up to me.

Basically, say I'm fixing the translation of a game that has a gay relationship. I'm not going to cut that content out of the game or change it just because I find it disagreeable. That would be for an entirely seperate mod.

I wouldn't advocate for that either, but this is completely different imo. Games have always used male/female until very recently, I consider reverting that back to normal to be uncensoring it, which falls within the scope of this mod.

I looked at the Japanese screenshot of the character creation screen, and 'あなたの分身の姿を教えてください' is normal. If it's political correctness, then Japanese game companies have been politically correct since the 1990s.

As you can clearly see in the right-most screenshot. You are picking forms between male and female avatars.

You're confusing the Pokemon 'スタイル' (style) politically correct nonsense that has been mocked by the Japanese community with something that has been a common sight in the character selection and creation screens for Japanese video games for as long as I can remember; no one in the Japanese Fire Emblem scene are complaining about that sentence. That said, I tried looking up ポリコレ (political correctness) in regards to Fire Emblem Engage, and what is being discussed is how in older games, the game strategy is different if you choose male or female, and with the latest Fire Emblem entry, there's practically no strategical difference (also how Fire Emblem has been pushing for gender equality by having ~50% of the important cast be female). Within the topic of western influence, some Japanese players think one girl with really dark skin is due to western political correctness.

Show me an example of 姿 being used in a screen where you only have two options that are clearly male and female and maybe I will believe you.

no one in the Japanese Fire Emblem scene are complaining about that sentence.
No one in Japan complains about anything because they are cucks who would rather avoid conflict with "shikata nai" than fight to protect their media.

Fire emblem didn't do this until everyone else started bending the knee so your examples don't mean much
