Richard "Lowtax" Kyanka is a victim of his own poor life decisions and karma, but he's not the scum of the earth.
I'm really puzzled how someone would consider him to be the reason for anti-Japanese racism and the bullying of Otakus online when his friend, Zack Parsons, was doing promotions for J-list, reviewing their ero-games and over-priced products. One of the ero-games being Jewel Knights Crusaders, which had a character called Hisui that Zack showed in his review, and about a decade later, someone, who really hated Somethingawful, tried to harass Richard about it, and Richard's response was that it's just a drawing, but after enough harassment, he relented and censored/deleted the image of Hisui from Zack's review because despite his bravado in responding to angry e-mails and letters from deranged people during the early days of his website, Lowtax in reality is a truly weak person.
For better or worse, Something Awful is responsible for many, many things on the western internet. Image Macros, 4chan, Let's Plays, Kiwi Farms, and so on. I tried googling 'Lowtax' and 'SJW' and one of the results from Doom Forum is a bizarro-version of your post claiming Lowtax is responsible for Anti-SJW culture and him always trying to make the site edgy like Kiwi Farms. I've only paid attention to Lowtax back in 2004~ when I read his articles and laughed at him being a silly 'funny' man, and recently when he appeared on Dick Masterson's podcast to shill his Tammy Laugh Tracks, and attempt to present himself as a 'funny' man people take too seriously before he committed suicide.
In any case, since I am interested in Otaku Bashing in Japan. I would be interested if there was a well-researched history thread in English about Otaku Bashing in the west. There's all sorts of things I don't understand about the western internet, since even though I was around in 2004~, I always considered myself an outsider and onlooker to whatever happened in the past. I also visited 4chan during its early days but because the users were reposting stuff from the Japanese boards, I migrated to those instead.

Raspberry Heaven (Anime-side of Somethingawful) Forum about the Shii Bashing:
ADRTW is the anime forum board on Somethingawful, and some of the key members of it included Moot, Shii, and Censored_Vagina. Censored Vagina wrote a very good scanalation guide with tools that I use, so I've always been interested in him. Both Shii and Censored Vagina were banned from Somethingawful over paedophilia. Something Awful was huge, and the board I liked was the Debate & Discussion board, and they hated the users of the General Discussion board, so seeing users on FYAD hate users on ADRTW doesn't strike me as odd.
Actually, I was trying to dig up information about Censored_Vagina, and did manage to find his Steam account where he seems to be active with his old friends from Raspberry Heaven; everything else I found of him was old and inactive, like his myanimelist account. Considering how important he is in the western anime fandom's history, I feel someone should interview him.

Lunch is ruined by the contents of a box of unusual condiments from Japan.

All that said, I don't like Moot from 4chan and I don't like Peter Payne from J-List. The latter is heavily associated with advertising on 4chan, Somethingawful, and Sankaku Complex, and unlike Lowtax, Peter himself has done a lot of actual damage, which his forum users did complain about, but the Wayback Machine doesn't have his forum board archived, so the only source I can provide is a Sankaku Complex article ironically enough. I see some users here linking Sankaku Complex, but Artefact is not a good person, and considering how many of you hate censorship, this is Artefact running defence for Peter's dishonest censorship of his games by acting as if anything in Japan is illegal in the United States and needs to be censored to comply with the laws in the United States (this is completely false as someone pointed out with mangagamer). In all honesty, Artefact is truly a scumbag; anything positive you can associate with SC is simply him taking information from Japanese blogs you should bookmark instead (
like Akiba Blog).
English language eroge publishers JAST have recently released the classic Kazoku Keikaku / Family Project, which is said to be fully uncensored as with all such international releases. However, some doubts have been raised as to just how straightforward a claim this is… A group involved with a
