さとうちゃんはとても可愛いですね!!! :hibiki-hnng:

This sort of material is absolutely sublime for any learner of a language. Exposure in a proper context with ample definition is key for absorption and retention. The added quality of seeing it handwritten makes it seem a lot more personal and "real" compared to just text in a textbook. It does a lot for me!

If I may offer a suggestion, you frequently transliterate 「し」into roumaji as just "si" when it should be "shi". Similarly, 「しょう」would be represented as "shou" and 「したく」as "shitaku". However, if you are meaning to invoke a specific accent where the "h" in these cases is not vocalized, my bad!

That aside, what you're doing here is fantastic, charming, and useful! I'm not sure whether you're specifically trying to learn English or Japanese or both, but you're on the right track with this series. The slice-of-life manga format I assume you're going for is not only extremely relevant in context of learning Japanese but also conducive to allow you to write about and share many different scenarios where you can build up vocabulary and phrases associated with matters of everyday life.

Thank you for sharing, and I'm hoping to see more from you on Satou-chan's daily adventures! :hinata-yea:

The thing is that in English, "sh" and "s" are different sounds. Roumaji may not be perfect, but we have to try and copy the sounds that are native to Japanese in our own characters.

For example, there is a difference between how we pronounce "sheep" and "seep" because of the presence of the letter "h". I understand why it may be confusing, because "sheep" and "seep" are both 「シープ」in Japanese, but they are not equal in English.

If you write down "si" instead of "shi", those who are not familiar with Japanese will say phrases like はじめまして incorrectly. You will hear them saying 「し」 incorrectly because they are thinking "si" instead of "shi".

It is hard to explain because when transliterating English words to Japanese, both "si" and "shi" will be represented as 「し」, but it's important to understand they are not the same.

Of course, this is your personal project, and you can do whatever you want! It's just a suggestion that I think would be better for those trying to learn Japanese from your writings.
If you have free time, would you correct my English?
please(よろしく)
Of course!

This Post
"it's a warm" => "it's so warm" or just simply "it's warm"

This Post:
"sleppy" => "sleepy"

"out of futon yet" => "out of the futon yet"
(The indefinite article "the" is required in speaking certain sentences.)

This Post:
"What the difference are" => "What is the difference"
(The word "difference" is a singular noun. Also, the verb in English comes towards the beginning of the sentence in most cases.)

I believe that is all the mistakes I noticed. You are doing very well! がんばってね!

You are welcome! It's always important for learners of languages to help each other out. Communication is necessary to become closer to fluency.

I do not know how long you have been studying English, but you are speaking well enough! I can understand what you are saying mostly, even if you make some mistakes. I am sure your English is much better than my Japanese!

I am trying to write in a more simplified version of English, as I am sure you are translating most of my writing. I hope you can understand what I am saying well enough. DeepL has made it so much easier for English speakers to communicate with Japanese speakers and vice versa.

This would be very helpful. Your guide on how to set up Japanese input in this post was useful!

If you feel comfortable doing that, then sure! Pronunciation of Japanese is a very interesting exercise for western speakers, and it is always important for learners to hear the language spoken from native speakers. I am sure you have felt the same thing in your studies of English.

You don't have to do everything at once. You can focus on the manga you are writing and other bits of text. It is important not to stress yourself out by doing too much, especially since you are doing this for free. Learning a language is challenging but it also should be fun. If you have the time and energy, then yes, pronunciation videos would be a great idea!

I got it.
Here.
素晴らしいです!

Your pronunciation is clear, and I appreciate that you speak at both a standard pace and a slower speed. I feel as if you can really get the feel of both the pronunciation and tonal accent this way. Proper enunciation of each of the 仮名 helps to establish the feeling, sound, and rhythm of spoken Japanese. Too many foreign learners, myself included at times, have a tendency to speak in a monotone way, but that's why we must practice! These sorts of videos will definitely be helpful to learners, especially as a companion to your manga.

On another note, would you prefer being addressed as Misato-san or Nana-san?
And, you can download Japanese manga episode1 pdf from here.
Thank you! PDF versions are very easy to read and durable for archiving. My recommendation would be do post images of it first so it can be seen without downloading, and when the episode is finished, compile it together in a PDF. This is what you are already doing, so I think it is a good idea!
