Or, better yet, just play Left 4 Dead 2, which has more replayability, simpler systems, custom content, and no bullshit microtranscations.

Sometimes, I wonder what else made the Last Stand update shit and piss on the floor as others seen.

Hard to say exactly. I only just recently started playing it again, so my memory of how the game functioned beforehand is lost. It's probably just a matter of a well-loved game receiving a somewhat sizable update for the first time in a long time (I think, don't quote me on the timeframe).

I'm sure if something similar happens to TF2, the same sort of fervent community response will happen.

TF2's Source Engine branch is in dire need of optimization. If only those who had issues despite a more than capable machine spoke up a little more... :anime-think:

What do you mean "Source Engine branch"? Do you honestly believe there's more than a single, lone developer still working on the game? :korone-smug:

Source games and mods use different versions of the engine (AKA branches). So far, the most recent branch is the CS:GO one (at least, Valve-wise).

From what I read from people still committed, it seems as if TF2's implementation hasn't quite reached that point.

Ah, okay lol. I misinterpreted what you had said as branches of developers rather than actual branches of the engine itself. I wasn't aware that the game is that far behind, but considering the lack of active updates in the last few years, it's not at all surprising.

Just imagine though a timeline where TF2 was ported to Source 2... :ro-hyper:
