Discussion A Few Wishes for MH Rise & Thoughts

I love Monster Hunter, but Capcom kinda sucks, unfortunately. I'll be waiting some time before I get the game (for zero day bugfixes and controversies to sort out), and I may even get it on the jolly roger game launcher for a bit first (I have a Switch James Bond gave me). Even then, I just hope for three things out of this game that I wanted to share:

1) Quick Sheath increases the sheathing speed of special sheath more than a few frames. In MH World IB, it made only a few frames of difference, which was insufficient when up against the high speed of IB monsters. If you didn't know, I'm a Longsword main, so this concerns me xD.

2) Attractive and/or sexy armor. I've played nothing but males, so this time in Rise I want to play a female hunter. I always make sure I have at least two fashion sets: one I think is badass, and one that is very asian. But now that I am playing a female hunter, I want a sexy fashion set. I just hope Capcom makes the female (fashion) armor at least gorgeous like the Kulve Taroth pieces in World, or otherwise sexy. As far as I can tell, the armor set used by the Switch Axe in the Rise Demo is freaking awesome, but I'm not too keen on the other armors. They look kinda...meh and not too appealing.

3) Some hitboxes got fixed (colloquially referred to as the Plesioth hitboxes). Magnamalo in the demo, and Nergigante in World suffer from this during some moves, particularly during their jumping attacks. Here are two examples from the demo, courtesy of reddit. These are obviously insanely annoying.

What are your thoughts? Are you looking forward to MH Rise (doesn't have to be on release)? If you do, are you new to MH? If not, what weapons do you play, and what changes are you happy or unhappy about/looking forward to?

yo i've been pretty excited for rise since it the first trailer HOWEVER im not a void brain consoomer to not understand how much capcom sucks ass so like you im also gonna be waiting probably a week to buy it
honestly im still a bit new to mh, the firsts ones i played were 4U and generations on the 3ds really fun times, but i never got to play world so im kinda jumping into the unknown.
now talkin bout changes, i think i like a lot of things from before world EXCEPT for the gathering of resources which since world is a lot faster and i really apreciate that, one of the reasons why i liked using aerial style in generations was because of the verticallity it offered and you kinda get that with the wire-bug so you can guess what i think about that, i think the implementation of special moves is also another thing i liked a lot from generations and it sort of comes back in rise.
now that's all fine and dandy but i don't like how they are slowly getting rid of the prepping aspect of the game, having access to the item box during hunts, showing where the monsters are, getting rid of some items and that sort of stuff is something i don't like at all, i also have fears that they are gonna streamline the game to the point where sets and skills are not as deep as in generations or 4u

That's a fear some people have, and it's a sentiment that has been accumulated over the increasing corporatization of video games (and entertainment in general) over the last few years. The dumbing down of everything to appeal to that "global audience." That being said, some things from old MH games definitely needed changes. I think going forward until we reach another golden age of genuinely good games, a waiting period after launch day will become the norm.

Also they call the male and female character selection options "Type 01" and "Type 02," like there's any more options necessary unless we get to play as wyverians instead of humans later on, lol.

If anyone has a problem with a game, here's a tip.
Pirate it.
Pirate the fucking game.
That's what I do.
Hell, that's my go-to, THEN if I actually enjoy the product, I might buy it. It really depends if I really enjoyed it and the devs aren't leftists.

fair enough, but since i already have a massive backlog i just say "why spend my time here when i can spend it on a million different games"
But then you'll say that to every other game as well when you'll want to try them.
