About "Mx." honorifics

Do you see people using this honorifics outside the scope of documents and online? As in, they actually say your name with "Mux" out loud?

Also when did this start getting accepted as normal? I was taught there was only "Mr", "Miss", and "Mrs" in English and I'd like to think I'm not THAT old yet.

I never heard "Mr" or "Mrs" spoken, but I have heard "Mister" and "Misses". Also, What even is "Mux"? Sounds like a nickname than a honorific.

I never heard of "Mx.", but I won't take anybody seriously who uses it. Just like with the Xi/Xim BS that popped off for a while.

I have not heard anyone say or write mx.

But again I dont work or live in an environment where honorifics are used that much.

In case you folks are really in the dark and not being sarcastic, in Kino's Journey volume 8 published by Kodansha they used "Mx." in front of Kino's name which is what startled me into looking it up through google.

I'm amazed at the result in first page. None ever mentioning how weird this all are.

Let me preface this by saying that I don’t want to sound like I’m defending the idea of this at all. No offense, But it kinda sounds to me like you’re looking for things to get mad at. I live on the East coast of the US, if anyone were to have heard about this bs, it would be me.
