I would like to make a recommendation for recent anime.
Before I say anything.
Watch Chainsaw Man the Movie. If you hated S1 or felt iffy about S1 I will tell you the new Director who also was in charge of Full Metal Alchemist Remake did a complete 180 and it's spectacular in the way it's done. Moving forward it's only going to become better and better. I would tell people to also read the Manga it's very funny and also follow Tatsuki Fujimoto on Twitter as he also dislikes the Anti's as much as we do. He is OUR guy. He even parodied himself as a Lolli to get his account banned a few weeks back on X.
1. Symphogear aka Mecha-Musume.
Absolute Peak Otaku Soul I can absolutely recommend this to anyone who enjoys a lot of Otaku themes, Fanservice, and loves the aesthetics, the feelings, and even the Character Designs from those times. It feels like a Time Capsule of what great Anime was back in the early 2010's. It even has Characters Singing songs and battling which feels very similar to Macross but Mecha Girls instead. It also has some homages to Saint Seiya in later seasons.
2. Macross Plus Movie, Frontier Movie Dulogy.
I will mention Macross Plus feels like a Prototype of what Cowboy Bebop would become. It has Watanabe and Yoko Kano in all the best ways and I wish as an American I would have known of this much sooner but sadly Macross suffered a complex Copyright despite that was only settled a few years back. I am glad I watched it and also Frontier Duology was extremely fun to. It's like Idols, High Flying Plane action, big huge spectacles, and the feelings of everything in between. I would highly recommend it if someone is even remotely interested in what I have said. Even the Nyan-Nyan Delicious Culture Meme from 14 years ago was based off of this. It's absolutely popular in Japan for a reason.
3. I'm the Evil Lord Of An Intergalactic Empire
If you like Spaceships, AI Waifu's, and some interesting LN elements this might be something people will like, because it tries to be extremely different from what everyone is used to in LN despite being an Isekai it has Fanservice within it as well.
4. Umamusume.
I will say it's Umazing for what it is. It's an Idol/Sports Drama series that is solid for what it is. It does not pick up until S2 but when it does, it just keeps going up from there and keeps outdoing itself regularly. It literally made me a fan of Umamusume and made me play the Gacha. An extra bonus is it's based off of real Horse Racing History, and if anyone tries looking it up, it is extremely entertaining how the Horse's backstory aligns heavily with what the Anime is showing.
5. Mahou Shoujo Akogarete
I have to admit, Mahou Shoujo Akogarete is really as Ecchi as it gets and you will know why on Episode 1. It makes me yearn for the days of Monster Musume and miss those times very heavily that it feels like a godsend that such a thing exists where it's just Fanservice, funny moments, and overall just comforting. It's not your average Magical Girl Anime and that's a good thing.
6. Kakegurai
Yes this one might be older, but if you like Kaiji but with Females it's really solid, and it has some nice tasteful ecchi elements from time to time. I really like the Death Game and the High School Settings.
7. Etotama
I feel like this one is VERY underrated, it hardly is mentioned anywhere. But the 3D Fight scenes are extremely good, and it's what I call Otaku Soul in content. It's not a masterpiece but it is what I would call a fun ride to watch and it's soul food, cute characters and just refreshing overall to these days where everything has to be serious.
8. Nohara Hiroshi Hiro Meshi No Ryuugi
If you like Shinchan as much as I do or even if you have not watched Shinchan. I would highly recommend this show. It might be done in a Flash style but it's extremely nice and comforting for those who wish to understand an average salary worker in Japan and also maybe to teach us all, sometimes when we are mad, or frustrated, and anxious all we need is a good meal and to relax once in awhile.
9. Oomuro-Ke
To all my Yuri-Yuri fans, I do not know if anyone knows, but a recent movie dulogy came out for Okurako's family and it's really good if you like the Yuri-Yuri Anime and want more Yuri-Yuri.
10. Jashin Dropkick On My Devil
I really love this series, I like how it's a kickstarted Anime series and each season was funded by Anime Otaku from all around the world to make this come to life. If you like good Slice Of Life with some funny violent slapstick comedy in between. I highly recommend it. The whole thing was a fun watch from beginning to end.
I will recommend more later this year. I apologize for taking too long to speak about things, it's just I have been highly busy.
