I'm not a fan of the Assassin's Creed series at all whatsoever.

But what do you think about the current series direction?

As it turns out, I am not a fan of the Assassin's Creed series. I am a fan of the Assassin's Creed 2 series, the Ezio games. While I have played 1 and finished 3, they're quite different games from the ones I like. In fact, contrary to the article, I don't consider AC3 to be the last of the traditional games -- I see it as the first of the non-AC games. A boring main character combined with a significant change to the controls made AC3 irritating to play. The AC3:Lib game that was ported from Vita was surprisingly good though.

Ever since then, I've barely had an interest in the series. When they gave away AC Unity to celebrate Notra Dame burning down, I barely got out of the tutorial before being utterly bored and uninstalling it. Every once in a while I think about Black Flag and Syndicate, which I might play eventually. So what I'm saying is that I'm suspicious of this "RPG" claim, but I don't know enough about what they've done to evaluate its RPGness.
