CD Projekt Red lost an argument with Studio Trigger regarding the loli character.

I don't know if this fits with the gaming or anime sub-forum, but I came across a funny story about the Cyberpunk 2077 anime, Edgerunners. CDPR wanted Studio Trigger to scrap the loli character because 'it didn't fit with the cyberpunk aesthetic'. Trigger gave the based response - 'No! The loli must stay!' - and that was that. Link below:

If anyone knows which interview this was, drop the link.

UPDATE (16/09/2022): Sankaku Complex reported on it (NSFW link).

Haven't watched the cyberpunk anime because westoid studios trying to do anime never ends well but this makes me feel a bit better about it. Based Trigger.

It may just be me beign paranoid but I feel we should not boaat too much about it as I fear someone big or stupid enough is gonna throw a hissy fit and shit will hit the fan:hibiki-pain:
Your fear is understandable it's a trend of companies interacting with Western franchises and companies that they end up having to change things because of said company.

But we might be safe trigger is "Progressive" enough that they probably won't and forced to change anything.

Don't forget that the one person who cried about it was a woman. CD Projekt was already woke, but they ramping it up with more female hires.
A lot of color haired banshees be joining their team now.

Find it funny that Rebecca apparently became their favorite character. Need to watch the show myself, I've been a fan of the setting since I started playing tabletop in the late 00s.

I find it funny that people are using a JP interview to disprove Rebecca as a loli.

Yet in said interview trigger refer to Rebecca as juvenile in design.

It's just pure copium at this point, they don't want to admit they find a loli character attractive because they've gaslighted themselves
and others into think 2D drawings of little girls = Real life Pedophilia.
So instead of accepting the truth, they'll now use every argument they ridiculed before to defend themselves.

I've even seen some people claim that she can't be a loli since her English voice actor sounds like a chain-smoker, It's ridiculous.

It's really funny reading their replies. Their entire world view has started to fall apart and there is nothing they can do about it, besides straight up not accepting the truth.

It's almost like the world of Cyberpunk (could be shortened as CP :shinobu_kaka:) is the far future where you could easily install a voice mudlator into your throat to change your voice... but yeah, that argument is completely solid without any holes.

I'm not sure I know what loli even means anymore tbh. Is it more about body type or age/demeanor?

Considering there's always been the term legal loli, and different types of loli I'd say more than anything It's a design archetype.

If the character looks or is young they're a loli, if they act childish as well that's a loli.

What's a phrase.

Every young anime girl is a loli, but not every loli is a young anime girl.

Kojima approves of Trigger not Westernizing it.
