I was sent this earlier today, and the comments are quite a thing.

Everyone who plays games knows (and hates) Denuvo.
The thing that makes the game you paid for run like complete shit cause apparently the coders for this garbage are braindead.

The tweet as of right now has 42 likes, a lot of comments, and just short of 500 QRTs.
Safe to say people are not happy
That put aside heres some highlights from the comments section

One last ditch effort to ruin emulation, I guess? Considering how fast the Switch got emulated, I doubt Denuvo is going to prove to be a problem anyway. Denuvo hasn't been the boogeyman of piracy anymore for quite some time.

I love how the sentiment regarding Dumbnuvo is how the Switch already has a hard time perfomance wise without it.

Welp, there goes my hope for console gaming being a way to avoid shit like Denuvo.

AC: Origins for PC was cracked and not only had Denuvo disabled, but outright removed. It's worthless no matter what Irdeto does. All it does is slow down piracy, and even so sometimes only by mere hours.

Emulators oftentimes have built in debuggers, and it would be very easy to make such debuggers undetectable if the emulation is accurate enough. With that it should be possible to just analyze the behavior of the game's code. It will probably be easier to crack than on PC.

Irdeto just wants access to another market in order to fool more companies into buying their shit anti-piracy solution, hoping it will delay cracks during the initial launch window.

All this will achieve is hurt switch sales. :bap:

Really leave it to nintendo to be as disconnected from everything as to actually try to get one of the most hated pieces of software into their system just because of their overzealous views on emulation

Has Denuvo ever actually prevented piracy instead of causing it?
I get the impression most anti piracy measures are only there to please some Suits and the shareholders. Gotta have that Don't copy that floppy protection in your vidja or them pirates will steal all the profits is what all these suits and shareholders are thinking about.

But yeah on system like the switch where you know dicknuvo is going to screw it performance wise its the actual paying customers who suffer from this. Its not gonna stop Jack Sparrow and Blackbeard from doing their thing.
