Depending on who ends up buying the platform this could be really good or worse than it already is

hm. wonder what if anything would change. Maybe it pushes more people to be open to alts like Element, Matrix, and Rocket.Chat. Would be interesting to start seeing more independent instances.
Could you imagine Sseths discord if it wasn't restricted to discord rules

If Valve buys it then possibly that loli can be accepted. But not if any of the more likely buyers like Amazon Google or the like gets a hold of it.

Honestly, none of the companies that could buy Discord would ever allow loli, especially Valve that has went on a crusade against it on their storefront to the point where even schoolgirl outfits are a no-go.

I'd say they are the most likely to allow it/not care. Even though they are inconsistent with what games they allow on the platform (Bullet Girls Phantasia is ok but not Eroge Faptastic Journey) I don't see them actively hunting loli steam group's. like the current owner's of discord is.

Loli steam groups don't matter but loli games do.

Well we are talking about discord here so how they treat groups is what's relevant here.
Do you post loli shit on those groups? Can your groups be reported?
Discord's point is that it is about groups, you can't compare them.

Group's can definitely be reported and removed But no I'm not active in the steam community. And way can't I compare the steam-community with discord to get a Idea on how it would be treated by valve? And here is some stuff in the workshop for Wallpaper Engine might be NSFW.
I already explained why. You can get away with loli even on Discord, that doesn't mean it's allowed.
Steam does shit that doesn't make sense against games, why do you think that if you report these images or groups you wouldn't get them banned as well?

Talks with Microsoft were ended yesterday
Here's a nice and short article provides further detail:

I'm really curious; why is Discord shying away from so many big buyers? I didn't even know about the previous attempts of both Epic Games and Amazon to grab up the platform. Given their business model and how, aside from Nitro, the way they make money is so obviously based upon acquiring and selling data, Discord should be more than happy to relinquish control to organizations known for their state-of-the-art data collection.

I am by no means optimistic this means Discord is willing to turn a new leaf and go for more honest methods of profit generation, so I have to wonder what other nefarious schemes they're cooking.
