Russia Nuclear weapon capabilities
Long list despite being less then half the population of the U.S. and 1/10th the population of China they are pretty creative bunch of people.
1. Ballistic Missiles.

This is the most simplistic understanding of ballistic missiles; they fly to space and then re-enter the orbit with warheads. Most of the latest modern air defenses have claimed to have done successful interceptions. Now to be fair for the Russians and Ukrainians that got their air defenses destroyed in this war, the ATACMS and Iskander fly at lower trajectories then SRBMs giving air defense radars less time to track and intercept their target. Ukraine is still touching Russia from the north which is why they have jackass incursions like Belgorod and Kursk, also the 20% of Ukraine's territory under Russia still doesn't provide Russia's full air defense capabilities like the ATACMs can still fly lower at hypersonic speeds below its flight ceiling. If somehow Russia manages to get everything from the east of the Dniepr river ATACMs capabilities would decrease and Russia's air defense capabilities would increase. Also, Russia has aircrafts that can share radar data with their air defense units if an enemy aircraft is flying below the air defense radar's horizon. Reason drones are obviously successful is that they fly super low and Russia is still in the process of upgrading their SHORAD capabilities like pic related. I think it might take like 10-15 years for western countries to create and produce similar systems for Ukraine

2. Advanced Ballistic Missiles

Pic related is the Topol-M, these missiles got replaced with Yars missiles and the Yars missiles are getting replaced with the newer Cedar missiles. Pic related is simple it shows that the missile uses thrust vectoring capabilities to start maneuvering before it reaches the atmosphere. This is a significant difference from a BM that reaches its flight ceiling with no maneuvering to evade interceptor missiles and releases maneuvering warheads before re-entering orbit. Iskander and Kinzhal missiles claim to have thrust vectoring capabilities from their launch for maneuvering capabilities as well. These missiles also have stealth material making radar detection harder, decoys and EW systems. They created a giant train system with different tracks and tunnels for some BMs to make it difficult to predict when they would launch at high speeds.
The latest Oreshnik missile that made Putin state to pick a time and location in which it would still hit its targets. The missile has 36 homing warheads when released. Well known ballistic missiles or re-entry vehicles when re-entering the earth atmosphere tend to slow down like mach 3 to 5. Because of new material to withstand high temperature the warheads when re-entering the earth can exceed at speeds of mach 10. Many research papers have shown that hypervelocity (kinetic bombardment for example) makes a bigger boom on impact then slower speed targets especially if they have an explosive charge.
2. The warheads get released at the apogee of the flight ceiling offering no time for air defenses to target the missile before the 36 warheads get released. Most air defense systems have very low altitudes SAMs which some believe most ballistic missiles are still in that phase when re-entering the orbit and releasing the warheads way later. Like if there is an air defense that has a SAM for 150kms. The Agni-5 for same range as Hazel has like a 600km altitude, so it is assumed that's when the warheads of hazel get released. SM-3 has a 1,200km range while the Hazel is described to exceed 5000kms but the speed of the Hazel to get to its Apogee 1st and then releasing the warheads to fly to their targets is when the SM-3 is useless. And also, the SM-3 missiles are not designed for complex maneuvers at dense layers where the maneuverable warheads are released. Of course, besides high temperature material breakthrough the high altitude drop off is what accelerates the warheads at high speeds to their targets.
3. Hypersonic Glide Vehicles

More advanced than BMs since they don't leave the atmosphere giving radars less tracking time and they maneuver for the rest of their flight. Some have unpowered and powered capabilities (using fuel). Avangard is the only HGV in the world with an ICBM range while not leaving the atmosphere. U.S. had something similar to the Avangard called the HTV-2 but the Vehicle was deemed a failure because it broke apart at 30% of its intended full range to its target getting released from a Minotaur 4 Lite rocket. The U.S. however continues HGV projects but none that are ICBM range AFAIK.
4. Scramjets

Everyone can take a lucky guess here which country made the 1st scramjet and successful test flight, and it was Russia with their Kholod project. They had a lack of funding when the Soviet Union collapsed so they had to share their data with the US in which the US funded their project on their behalf. These missiles are more advanced than HGVs in which HGVs are already more advanced than BMs. Ramjet and Scramjets (both will always be 2nd stage engines) are air breathing missiles that require a 1st stage engine to provide them the necessary acceleration for subsonic(ramjet) or supersonic(scramjet) air to enter and mix with the fuel injection before exiting the exhaust. This offers excellent fuel efficiency which is one of the reasons why they fly at lower altitudes at high speeds where air density offers the most resistance. What makes them more advanced then HGVs is 1. They maintain high velocity until their engine gives out in the end or hits its target. 2. Zircon flies at a 40km altitude which gives radars less, less time to track and intercept. 3. the atmosphere calculator and speed show a high temperature plasma will occur and based on the calculations the plasma can even deteriorate fire control radar frequencies or any frequencies below it (L-band, S-band and X-band are used for tracking targets, VHF and UHF radars are for detecting targets). The Meteorit missile project was a ramjet project that used a plasma generator to generate a plasma screen for stealth. Most hypersonic vehicles can be infrared tracked but scramjets deteriorate radar tracking capabilities significantly and radars are the most common used sensors. 5.Long Range Nuclear Torpedo. Nuclear Reactor Cruise Missile, EMP Missile Alabuga(no one has success with this)

There is no underwater defense system that exists that can intercept a nuclear torpedo from destroying a coast. The Burevestnik is a missile with an unlimited range or how long the nuclear reactor can run on the missile. Flies at cruise missile speeds and at low altitudes using the advantage of radar horizon to avoid radars. Burestnik is claimed to make A.I decisions like avoiding paths from enemy radars such as using passive sensors if it is getting tracked to take another direction. Think this missile's use is to fly from Canada (assuming they don't have good air defense systems) to the U.S. CHAMP missiles basically emit an EMP which fries electronics during flight basically if an interceptor missile came it would release an EMP based on its radius frying their tracking electronics and continue its flight. Source for Alabuga missile is I think it's just a onetime missile use that fries all electronics at an intended target, google sucks.

6. Classified Missiles or means of nuclear delivery

Based on the projects disclosed publicly, Putin said there are projects that he can't disclose publicly. This could be a wide range of ideas from missiles using detonation engines, missiles that can operate at higher speeds then ICBMs, aerospike engines or something from orbit hitting a country. Technology keeps progressing like copper additives increasing thrust by 5 times, new material that can withstand temperatures higher then 4000 Celsius in velocity, physicists and engineers discovering something new, etc.

1. Both have intercepted BMs, I have no idea if these were simple BMs or advanced BMs that they intercepted.
2. Both make claims that their new air defense systems will intercept HGVs.
3. U.S. has an advantage in MMIC technology for radars, however depending on the results of this war Russia might control 70% of the worlds market on neon (material used for semiconductor technology). Also, they are producing PIC(photonic integrated circuits) which I heard are more superior then MMICs and operate in the millimeter wave band. The Yakhroma radar is an interesting project which makes me wonder if it will use PICs to work as a photonic radar since it's a ground radar, works in millimeter and a very wide band which is something unheard of.

A.I. to calculate probability of survival in making choices.

1. Depending on the Poseidon's stealth can the US SONAR system pick up these torpedoes to verify they are incoming nukes? Have the Russians successfully probed our coasts before without our knowledge? Lets say all the nuclear torpedoes hit all our coasts at the same time did we have any nuclear missiles that were near the coasts when the detonation occurred? Can our satellites pick up low flying high speed scramjets from space? How much will it effect the radar horizon by the time our radars pick it up? Are there any mountains along the way that cause some obstruction from detecting the target based on their own satellite intel.
2. Lets there was some reaction time and chance to press the nuclear button for some area in the U.S. What are the tracking capabilities of S-400, S-350, S-500, S-550 and the new A-235 system with new Voronezh ground radar stations with interception success rates and how many targets can be intercepted at the same time? Have the high precision millimeter wave radars with PICs enhanced their air defense capabilities for more interceptions? Do they know the failure rates of their adversaries missile launches and the technology of those missiles if they would cause any issues to their air defenses?
Based on the analysis they can calculate their survival rate, if its a 99% chance or higher it might give them confidence to launch strikes without the repercussions of M.A.D.
2nd reason we will be back to focusing on internal issues.
1. Lowering the mobilization age from 27 to 25, 18-25 year olds this month from Ukraine are taking basic training which makes it seem they will soon be at the end of the road for throwing bodies. Putin saying there are over 700k soldiers in the operation and 100k in their Belarus exercise a few days ago with US observers seems they are not running out of men anytime soon. Country with a lot of resources will have a sealed fate soon.
2. Venezuela has rich resources but a piss poor military maybe some deal with China would prevent a full US incursion.
3. Once the Ukraine shit is settled Russia might have full attention back to the south. Despite U.S. bases with logistics having to cross a huge body of water and Israel, Russia and Iran along with Turkey with the likely chance to flip like a switch despite NATO status might cause issues again.
4. Arctic might be another issue but Russia has a lot of icebreaker ships, maybe US space race with Russia and China in placing nuclear reactors on the moon.
once the 1st 3 points are settled there really isn't much to do that I can think of that would be a good investment in the long run.
