Censorship Fate/Grand Order showcases censored Ushiwakamaru in new CE artwork

In a disappointing move that I'm sure doesn't come as a surprise to those on Varis, Fate/Grand Order revealed a new Craft Essence to use in the game, featuring the popular 3-Star Servant Ushiwakamaru.

The problem is that - in both JP and NA - Ushiwaka covered up the majority of her skin.

This type of censorship has been seen before with Ushiwaka's introduction to the Melty Blood universe. Melty Blood is a niche but popular fighting game series based on Type-Moon characters.

In related news, Sony purchased DelightWorks (the developers of FGO) back in 2021. This artwork censorship also extended to the character Emiya Alter several years ago, with accusations that DelightWorks were engaging in blackface.

I think it's time for me to quit FGO. Emiya was Strike 1. The localization hiding a character's age (14) was Strike 2. This new info makes it three.

CEs are only 'passives' added to your servants, they do not affect a servant's appearance.
Only actual costumes do.
So no censorship on the servant sprite.

And even if so, these CEs are only for collection purposes, they will never be actually used in battle.

No it doesn't change or replace anything. It is also not new it released about 2 years ago in JP, but I guess it must have just released in global or something since op is posting about it now.

Global is in 6th anni celebration period right now, yep.
The actual anniversary happened on 25th June but the actual anni content slowly gets released from there until the start of July since it has to be synchronized with Anime Expo.

Craft Essences are just enhancement items. They don't do anything to the characters apart from making them stronger.
