I know I haven't posted this yet, but on my status a while ago, but remember when Sentai Filmworks had the license to Fate Kaleid/Prism Illya? When I bought the DVD, they had three extras to this. As it turns out, two of the extras are missing. Especially the OVA when Chloe and Illya make out in the hot springs. I had to look it up online and then watch the DVD to confirm. Now the first season, I am not sure if anything is missing in the DVD. I will check and give an update on that or if anyone can check to confirm. Nothing else on the 2nd season was tampered I believe. Just missing two extras and that OVA.

I guess lolis having fun time is not allowed. Shame. Which is weird because I remember watching the BD S2 of Prisma Illya and I think there was the OVA as well as the extras on the BD I downloaded but I can't confirm it since that was several years ago.

I don't understand sentai.

Their release of Prisma Illya season 1 is missing the 5 specials (the first one being the debut of Illya's beast mode outfit)

They released the 1st OVA (the gym outfit school dance)

Next with 2wei they didn't include special 2 which is about Miyu asking Luvia about bras and panties and special 4 which has Illya/Miyu/Kuro and Illya's school friends trying to attract customers to a restaurant while wearing china dresses.

Don't know why special 2 was omitted when special 1 is basically about the same thing but with Illya, Kuro and Sella. With special 4 maybe sentai was afraid of showing Kuro being seductive which is dumb because...

Their 2wei Herz release includes all of the specials which means they dubbed Beast Mode Kuro being horny for Miyu.

One guess on why they didn't dare bring the 2wei OVA over here (they could've released it under Critical Mass/kitty media and gotten away with it I bet, not a lot but some loli h-anime [or h-anime with loli scenes intact] were brought to the states)

Apparently sentai lost the license when 3rei came out but released the Oath Under Snow movie later (last I skimmed it has only one panty shot for Miyu) and Prisma Phantasm which only has a small bit of fanservice from some new glasses girl who isn't a loli so I don't care, both are sub only.

And when I checked sentai's site they aren't selling 2wei Herz anymore (other listings are jacked up in price now), could be distribution issues (since Herz is on HiDive but not the OVAs) but the pessimist in me wants to say they got in trouble or decided to stop selling it to avoid bs law issues.

I do not for one minute think Sentai had an active interest in intentionally removing and excluding these extras from the series. Unless there's some shit takes from higher-ups of which I am not aware, they're pretty cool and actually give a damn about anime. It's most likely just a matter of them being so big and so prolific and not wanting to mess with any potential drama or legal claims as a result of such "questionable" content. I can't exactly blame them, since they manage and sell so many other properties, and this isn't the hill they want to die on.

Best thing to do it seems is to just sail the seven seas and create your own box set. At least then you can confirm no censorship occurs.
