As the thread title says, whats your favorite vidya OST(s)? With video game music becoming more and more prominent and recognized as a legitimate form of media (because it always has been a legit form of media, but the elite snobs will tell you otherwise), which of them have caught your ears? Whether they be in [current year] or back when Boomers were young, which OSTs will stay with you till the day you die?
A few that come to mind for me immediately are NieR and NieR Automata. Both have amazing scores and even outside of the scenes they're in, can invoke those same emotions. The fake language they made for the singers to use in the songs is neat, and Hills of Radiant Wind still hits you hard out of the gate. And any time I hear Weight of the World, I can't help but tear up a bit.
No matter your opinion of Minecraft, the game has some VERY soothing music (and sometime spooky). Even the self titled track Minecraft has a unique feel to it. The perfect song to just shit and watch the day go by without a care in the world, the last few rays of sun sliding down the horizon. I may not play it (much) anymore, but if someone put on this OST, I wouldn't complain.
I know Undertale has gotten a bad rap from the fandom, but the game is still great. And Toby Fox fucking NAILED it with each track. From Once Upon A Time and Ruins, very soft and melancholic in a way, to sans. and Nyeh Heh Heh! perfectly capturing the brothers personalities (just to be hit with Snowy, my fucking GOD), all the way to Battle Against a True Hero and of course Megalovania. Though if I had to choose a track that really hit me and hit me hard (and will stick with me all my life) has to be Undertale. Even hearing it now makes me want to cry and I can't explain it. Can't even put it into words on what I feel with this song. But enough sucking off Undertale.
There's plenty of other OSTs out there that I can listen to at the drop of a dime (DOOM 2016 with BFG Division and DOOM Eternal with BFG 10k for example), but I want to hear what soundtracks you all love to listen to or hold dear!
