Fire Emblem Fates Uncensored Patch

Man. What are you saying?
My post states its for Azahar/Citra
And in it there is no region. Country does absolutely nothing. Only changing language enables JP DLC's
are you sure?

I'm currently playing through the game with the latest patch. First of all, I had no problem installing the patch with your latest instructions, so they're pretty good!
Secondly, absolutely loving all the extra stuff here - currently doing the amiibo missions and having a blast. The only time I've seen a line in Japanese was when I was visiting a street pass castle and I'm not sure if those are even supposed to be translated (NPC line, not the custom PC line which obviously aren't tranlated)
There's one thing that I haven't found either here or in Team IF FAQs, and that's whether or not to install the 3mb update for the game. But I did because the constant reminder on startup kept bothering me and as far as I can see nothing is broken afterwards.

Oh and I'm playing on hardware, yeah.
Edit: Found a small issue on the last amiibo mission, in the very first line Robin calls me "Kamui" instead of my custom char name. Not sure yet whether that's just the way you did things or an actual issue so I thought it would be best to mention it, but it's not a big deal with a custom translation.

Oh, some NPC "online files" might not be translated , I thought the StreetPass thing wasn't even working anymore.
And it seems that the update doesn't change anything related to the text, so it's fine either way.

That's me forgetting to use the scripted command.

They've turned off the servers so it's impossible to visit castles or do battle over the internet, but StreetPass specifically is strictly console-to-console so there's no real way to turn that off. Sure it's basically impossible to meet another 3DS out in the wild today but a) it's easy if you actually have several consoles on hand, and b) there's a homebrew software called NetPass that uploads your streetpass data to its servers and downloads data from other recently active users, effectively imitating you passing them irl. It even allows to exchange play coins or whatever they're called for specific game pings so getting FE if passes is really easy.
And since they include castle data the function is basically alive, if quite inhibited.

Anyway, thanks again for your hard work and the info provided!

I'll use this post to report any further issues that I find. Who knows, perhaps one day you could fix them! No pressure though.

On the map it says "Stairway to Hell", but in the engine cutscene the top screen subtitles say "Stairway to Hades" - chapter 9 of the Invisible Kingdom route.
Funnily enough it's "Stairway of Hell" on the subtitles and character lines in Byakuya route.
Yet further in, at chapter 16 of Byakuya route, Macbeth calls it Stairway to Hades.

Similar problem with next map, Duchy on the map and Principality later in the text.

Numerous speech lines consistently call the protagonist's sword "Yato-no-Kami", meanwhile the inventory item is called "Yatogami"

Anna's lines in the Anna's second gift dlc aren't translated. Although there's nothing there story wise, obviously.

Also I have a bunch of non-usable dlc lines like EP09, EP10, and some hieroglyphics mixed in with regular dlc. This is most likely because I'm playing on hardware and have my PAL Fates special edition dlc installed on it.

When calling Hinoka to MC's molestation station she has a line "Do people greet each other like this in Nohr?" despite the rest of the game calling it Anya.
Although the route sprites when choosing a route also have Nohr and Hoshido on them.

Robin's amiibo has a line with a Japanese full stop in addition to the regular dot. After you beat him and he asks to join.

Yeah... that's probably why it's not working properly, I've checked the "Anna's second gift" DLC and all the lines are fine.

By "non-usable DLC lines" you mean this?

If so, then yeah, that's how it should look. I couldn't find a way to remove them without screwing up the DLC list structure....
Btw do the 2 Festival of Bonds DLC even show up ?

A few questions just to discard some usual stuff:
Are you using the Japanese Special Edition version?
After using the first command ("ctrtool -p --contents=DLC *yourDLCfile*.cia"), do you have a file called "DLC.0008.00000025"?
Are you doing the patching process on a folder that is not protected by the OS and has full read/write permissions?
Hey, at the moment, I'm stuck on the same problem as TamaPochi (which he was able to resolve). To answer your first question, yes I'm using the Japanese Special Edition version. To the second question, I don't have a file called "DLC.0008.00000025". To your third question, I'm doing this on the downloads folder. (C:\Users\super\Downloads\FE_Fates Uncensored Patch 1.6\DLCPatcher), so by default it's not protected by the OS and has full read/write permissions. I was able to successfully and easily patch the main game. After I run the ctrtool -p --contents=DLC *yourDLCfile*.cia command (I obviously replaced *yourDLCfile* with the actual DLC .cia folder), and it loaded the 62 files. Now, when I go to the DLCModdedFiles, copy the contents in it, and paste it to the DLCPatcher folder, it doesn't prompt me to replace the files. I've tried all sorts of things but nothing has been working for me. As TamaPochi mentioned, I decrypted the CIA file once again, but it didn't decrypt it since it's already been decrypted. I used Batch-CIA-3DS-Decryptor-Redux-1.0.6.1 to decrypt it. I also went through with it with ChatGPT and verified my files which were correct according to your instructions. Now to the last part, when I run the makerom... command for the last step, I get back
[SETTING ERROR] 'DLC.0008.00000025' could not be opened
[RESULT] Invalid arguments, see 'makerom -help'

I'd really appreciate it if you could help me out with this.

? Those 62 files should be loaded in the DLCPatcher folder, and you should be getting the prompt to replace the files when pasting the ones in the DLCModdedFiles folder.
I mean, don't they have the same names?

And you have to run both commands in the DLCPatcher folder. When using "ctrtool -p --contents=DLC *yourDLCfile*.cia" you have to change *yourDLCfile* for your file, not the folder.

PD: If it still doesn't work, then it must be something related to the decryption, try another way to decrypt your .cia.

Yeah they're there, I haven't tried playing them yet because I want to finish the routes first to refresh my memory.
I gotta mention though that I have played the exp grinding dlc, Anna's first gift and the Awakening crossover, and all of those have proper retranslated lines.

Oh hey, there's your problem

To elaborate without being the dude that doesn't provide a solution
I tried using the same decryptor at first but noticed that it doesn't work with DLC and outputs CCI files instead of CIAs
Meanwhile the guide calls for decrypted DLC and both files decrypted CIAs
In the end I used my 3DS to decrypt the files and it worked, got decrypted CIAs. Unfortunately this solution won't help if you don't have hardware on hand.

Edit: Oh hey I just noticed that this is a prompt for converting to CCIs and not decryption, derp.

I've already fixed all that, but I'll wait until you finish your playthrough in case there's more stuff to fix.

Wow, that was fast!
I'm currently stuck in the mire of grinding for offspring and generally the mother dialogue is untranslated but that's dozens of the same shit and you've announced right away that you're not going to do those any time soon so I didn't write anything. Other than that I haven't seen anything noteworthy yet but I'll be sure to let you know when I do.

Alright, new report post to keep them separated.
Currently on chapter 19 of the Byakuyan route, when the sword gets upgraded.
The sage says the following: "It is now the blade of the "White Sky", Yato-no-kami. The one that will quiet and pacify the night. It's new form".
Afterwards the message pops that says "Obtained the Night Sky Yato", with the inventory item also called that henceforth. Seems like the route names are mixed here? Idk.

Further on, the 20th byakuyan chapter location on the map is "Black Dragon Fortress" while the subtitle in the scene when you begin the chapter is "Dark Dragon Fortress", and Ryoma calls it exactly that shortly thereafter. It's called the Dark Dragon Fortress for the entire chapter, while in the very beginning of chapter 21 king Garon calls it the Black Dragon Fortress.

Chapter 21 is called Demon Falls while the location is called Demon Fall. It's called a plural in the chapter dialogue.

In the interdimentional museum (weapon scramble) dlc, Ryoma's line has a typo" "Thought I also need to be careful not to lose the Raijin Katana."
Seems to me it should be "Though", not "Thought".

MIID_夜刀神: Yato-no-kami
Byakuya route:
MIID_夜刀神・空夜: Night Sky Yato
MIID_夜刀神・白夜: White Night Yato
Anya route:
MIID_夜刀神・長夜: Long Night Yato
MIID_夜刀神・暗夜: Dark Night Yato
Invisible Kingdom route:
MIID_夜刀神・幻夜: Phantom Night Yato
MIID_夜刀神・終夜: End Night Yato

(It is shortened to "Yato" due to character limit issues.)
Funny enough 白夜 means Byakuya (White Night) and 暗夜 means Anya (Dark Night).

And the original text from that chapter is:
これなるは『夜刀神・空夜』…
静かにして穏やかなる夜を導くもの。

So, "White Sky" is wrong and needs to be changed to "Night Sky".

-V1.7 is up!
This version mainly includes fixes for typos and name inconsistencies:
The phrasing of a few conversations in the "FoB" DLC was improved to make them sound more natural.
A few text fixes in Robin's amiibo mission and in the "Duelist Museum" DLC.
One typo fixed in the "Encounter with Awakening" DLC.

Name inconsistencies fixed:
Fixed a few inconsistencies with the way the "Stairway of Hell" is called.
Fixed a few inconsistencies with the way the "Chevalier Principality" is called.
Kamui's "basic" sword is now also called "Yato-no-Kami" in the inventory.
Fixed one line from Hinoka where she still uses the name "Nohr" instead of "Anya".
Fixed one line from the Rainbow Sage in chapter 19 of Hoshido's route where he talks about Kamui's sword.
Fixed a few lines where they call the "Black Dragon Fortress" the "Dark Dragon Fortress" in chapter 20 of Hoshido's route.
Fixed one line in where they call the "Demon Falls" the "Demon Fall" in chapter 21 of Hoshido's route.
I want to thank @Tenrevo for all his testing!

-I've also updated the HD pack!
Textures for the two FoB DLC maps have been included, multiple textures have been fixed or optimized, and a few combat VFX textures have been removed after realizing that it was nearly impossible to see any difference between them and the vanilla ones.
If you're updating from an earlier version, you need to delete all the textures from the old version first before applying the new ones.

-And Azahar introduced new sensible performance optimizations in their latest build.
I've been testing this new build with the new version of the HD pack and the stuttering appears to be gone.
@TacoBell-kun if you ended up not playing because of the stutters, you might be interested in checking this out.

Are you referring to version 2121.2 of Azahar? From the Azahar website?

Update: I'm still testing it out. I might had mistaken some of the frame drops in this new version for stuttering (emulators apparently create audio distortion when the game runs at a lower framerate than intended). I don't know how my high end PC would have frame drops running this, even with HD textures. Then again, I only have 32 GB of RAM. I guess that's kind of low for current year standards. The game has less audio distortion when I close my browser and other programs.

I'm still dealing with stuttering. It would be much easier to play test with the settings if the emulator didn't save everything in a cache that just disappears when I restart my computer. It turns out that previous areas that I thought didn't have stutter were just parts where the shaders got stored, so they didn't stutter after the first time I tested it that session.

Welp, then idk what to tell you.
The game runs better on my I7 from 2012 with 8GB of ram while recording at 1080p/60fps...

I did notice some problems around 0:48. It doesn't exactly run flawlessly on your device either. The game didn't run too well when Marx and Nishiki were entering battle for the first time.

Maybe you just didn't notice it.
