Can't say I care all that much, really. Kinda typical of steam but seems it was translated by a person who seems to twist meanings or words and insert their own agenda.

do not simply find the prospect of translating Muramasa "difficult," I find attempting to do so, and furthermore telling people that "[their] version of the game lives up to the original" to be ethically abhorrent.

I doubt it really, I have been doing some research on the person who wrote it. He seems like a perfectionist when it comes to localization.
He's very hated by localizers and translators, it seems, because of his view that you automatically can never get every nuance or certain term in Japanese across in localization form.

I do believe what he is saying is true in a sense. There are Japanese games you just can never truly translate because of the cultural aspect in which eventually its meaning or nuance will get lost upon translation. I'm kinda curious why they are so mad at him for truly speaking facts. It's kinda like the moment where translators botch localization or translation in general because they either think their fans are too stupid or because there is no equal choice of word for that certain meaning.

In general, I think he is trolling for the sake of pissing off other localizers/translators. What I don't get about the dude is the fact that he could do the same thing that is being done here.
Simply make examples and prove your case to the people you are trying to convince.

I did come across this while scouting his Twitter account. And still not sure if the Homophobic lines were removed, which did trigger one of the translators. They said its uncensored but then again in the past they first announced some games uncensored and still cut them. Starless for instance was supposed to release uncensored in the patch which eventually was cut, and they spread the patch through unofficial means. And then there was the other game that had one lolicon rape scene removed.

It is, gambs is a notorious troll and a reddit mod. Muramasa translation is fine, and nothing was removed from it. All the racism and homophobic stuff is still inside. If you don't want to take my word for it, pirate it.
