The anime adaptation of "Iya na Kao sare nagara Opantsu Misete Moraitai" or "I Want You To Show Me Your Panties With a Disgusted Face" had run into
some issues during its second season when the Anime producer ran off with all the production funds, 5 million yen (around 34,000-35,000 USD).
The anime was almost canceled until the director had to pay out of his own pocket to help finish the second phase of the season.
there was also a court case where they sued the anime producer. Currently the director & the studio are trying to crowdfund the third season.

Also apparently the producer was a douche, abusing the workers, ignoring the author's advice, and doing whatever he wanted with the project.

wow what a crazy story

not watched the show but I have been following the OG artist of their works for some time. shame this had to happen to them and I hope justice comes in the end
From what I've read of the article (through a rough Machine Translation) the director already won the trial and recovered some of the money,
but not all of it. He's still facing some issues. the shitty producer never showed up to the trial so they lost most of the money.

The director single-handedly funded the entire second half of the season with money he was gonna use to buy an apartment
and the studio almost went into bankruptcy because of this fiasco. Thankfully they seem to be getting a lot of help from fans.

Forgot to include this but if anyone's interested here's a link to the crowdfunding page to help the director and studio make a Season 3.

That's quite a story there...

I'm glad that they went with crowdfunding. Jashin managed to pull it off, so I have no fear that they manage to do it as well. I personally think more studios should do it too. Hell I would sub to CR if they make a platform for that where you can use your money.
