I don't think so? Now don't get me wrong, people are free to interpret their fictional characters the way they want. (For example, i make any waifu i love into horny femdom sluts while trying to retain their original personality)

However, that shouldn't be used as a shield for woke points. I legitmately got bothered by someone drew Sadone from Battle Girl High School as a Black Fat girl...

Why do artists always gotta do this shit? as a black person, this is just offensive and crass, like there are black characters in anime, Fire Emblem from Tiger & Bunny, Yoruichi and Tier Harribel from Bleach, fucking Afro Samurai, etc.

Thats the problem though. Cause thats exactly what these guys are doing. They're just taking existing characters and making them black/retarded/gay/whatever else is trending. I get changing the personality, or whatever, but this isn't interpretation. it's just them blackwashing characters, and using the trend as an excuse.

well you can call it out all you want here.
But yeah both of those are bad, if you want black characters make some good shows with black characters, god knows hollywood would eat that shit up, or use the existing black characters in anime. Theres no excuse for just straight up blackwashing them.
Especially when you make them look like apes, like seriously what is with these art styles.

im gonna be honest but I made a little thread telling my followers to not harass this artist. They said they didn't do a redesign because she was "ugly" and "Sexualizing" or any of that, but just wanted to do their own redesign for fun. They claimed that they have been getting death threats, being sent gore videos, and people were sending em that video of a dog being beaten to death with a stick in China (I assume its that one).

In my opinion, if you are doing a redesign for shits and giggles, that's fine, but if you want to do it because you don't like the character or you think shes ugly or whatnot, yeah...i dont play with that.
