Former Tekken Director Katsuhiro Harada announced he'll be working under an independent subsidiary, owned and funded by renowned fighting game company SNK.
Officially titled VS Studio Co., Ltd. SNK (pronounced Vee-Ess), the new studio was built 'on the knowledge and passion [they] have cultivated over many years on the front lines of game development', according to Harada. He debated over what to do with what little time he has remaining in the industry, wanting a place where he and trusted colleagues can focus solely on creating games.
This news coincides with multiple events and statements involving Harada, including but not limited to the death of his close friend Tomonobu Itagaki, and frustrations with Bandai Namco executives (archive).
