Happenings Kimetsu no Yaiba Movie Surpasses Mortal Kombat. In terms of grossing numbers.

Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Train has continued its spree of achievements as the movie has now reached Western shores, successfully pushing past the new Mortal Kombat and raking in $6.42 million in ticket sales last weekend.

The film achieved the title of highest-grossing movie of all time in Japan and it is now set to gain more accomplishments in the West, with its first being the number-one highest grossing film last weekend:

Kimetsu no Yaiba’s revered movie is said to be the second time a Japanese film secured the number one spot for North America, with the first achievement apparently belonging to Pokemon’s first movie.

Anime addicts may be curious if there will ever be a film to surpass this newly emerged giant.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is also the anime that got in to a censorship controversy over Tanjiro Kamado's earrings because people were offended over them because they apparently looked similar to the rising sun flag. Its not even close by the way as you can see below. They even went so far as to change it for the Chinese and South Korean streaming market.

On a different note the Mortal Kombat movie sucked ass. Too much talking not enough spine ripping.
Like why in gods name would you make a movie about a game thats only focus is goring your opponents and add some shitty plot that takes up 90% of the runtime.

Guys, this opinion is going to be very unpopular, but ... the kimetsu film is super overrated, it does not deserve any of the awards it has won. To sell it doesn't need to be a good movie, but to win awards, I guess so, I have seen a lot of people on twitter who say that they leave theaters crying, that it is the best anime movie they have ever seen ... never .
I think the film simply did not have good competition that year, and I repeat, the Fate film has not received the credit it deserves, it was overshadowed by a film that is not up to it.

animation movies don't count? and you mean good adaptations by Hollywood right?
I don't know if this is what you mean, but the Final Fantasy XV movie wasn't bad, right?

What did you expect? Of course a Japanese anime movie will beat a fucking LIVE ACTION ADAPTATION of a woke, almost dead franchise. MK died when they released MK11 and the head devs were virtue signalling AF on social media. Western shit today cannot be trusted. There are a few exceptions of course, but you have to look for it really hard. It's like searching for a diamond in a sea of shit. And everything that the Western burgerland middlemen "translators" touch, it turns to shit. And for that, most if not all western stuff is now being put under a microscope and carefully examined if there is any woke political propaganda.

It is not scrap, it is good and it entertains, it is simply very overrated, first the animation is great but it does not deserve any of the awards it has, when I saw that they made the selection for the Oscars, I saw that among the Japanese animation films it was not Kimetsu and I was wondering why, but after seeing her I understood why, her animation is not better than Fate's [and there is still violet] I really can't explain much without spoilers, but:
* don't expect a movie with a great story, it doesn't really have any story and I've seen many better movies [including sequel movies that adapt an arc from the manga, example made in abyss], personally I liked the final arc of the series a lot more, also the film violates at times some of the good things that the series has ... but I can not speak more without spoilers, the rest well, without watching the film I do not want to risk talking a lot.
Only that the movie is entertaining, it has a lot of action ... but only that. I can even highlight plot errors that the series does not have, I think the previous arcs are entirely superior.
Fate is superior, the same animation [varies at times and I think that movie 2 has much better animation, but well its competition was the 3], better story, and well, the music is great in both, it is the same composer and for the ending both Aimer and LiSA are great and express well in the song what the film represents.
I think that in the story and the development is where the film fails the most, it would still be necessary to see Violet's and buy [violet has some awards so I hope a brilliant production]
