Marvelous Europe announced their website has been fully revamped - but gamers noticed right away that Senran Kagura no longer comes up in search results. The backlash kicked off immediately, with countless tweets from fans showing off photos of their physical collections and expressing their disappointment and anger.

In related news: Some time after Sony's censorship policies became public, the Chinese gaming company Tencent acquired 40% of Marvelous' shares, making them the largest shareholder in the Japanese company. The acquisition soon led to the removal of both NSFW and SK-related content in Marvelous' official Discord server. Marvelous' Q1 financial results in 2022 declined from previous years across most metrics.

A petition was started in response to Marvelous' actions.

Bounding Into Comics reported on the story.

UPDATE: Turns out they removed other games like Valkyrie Drive.

It doesn't scream Tencent really, and more western political correctness or else they would have expunged it from the Japanese site also.

This is just your typical Japanese company playing it, save before the mentally ill start labeling the company as sexist. Tencent will be a problem in the long run, as it buys up more shares in each company they already have some in.

Western Animation/Comic & the Gaming industry has been ruined by this sort of bullshit (as well as some parts of the EU entertainment)

PC and Woke culture have reached Japanese shores and are slowly but surely infecting their entertainment in small pockets.
The only way to stop this is for people to make a firm stand against this shit and cut it out like the tumor it is.

Yeah other nerd fandoms and normal fags have been getting more into anime/manga exactly because Western entertainment has become intersectional gender studies trash. They seem to love it because anime/manga at least the source material is "free" of it.

However, I have to keep reminding them the localizers(or trannylators) are the same kind people that ruined Western entertainment. (its also not helping many branch/localizers offices are located in california). Japan isn't exactly free or deaf from the constant chimp outs from shitholes like twitter, retardera/neofag, games journo's and Western studios/platform-holders. even though, all aforementioned shitholes aren't representing their Western customers. Its probably gonna get worse when western companies get seats at production committees.

Why I do wish all the Japanese companies all that Western monies from other nerdfandoms/normal fags part of me really wished it would have stayed niche or invisible. All that money flowing is attracting all these commies who have ruined Western entertainment like shit to flies.

Marvelous lost it when Takaki decided to leave and sell out and then they relegated honey parade to mobage/gacha team much like the doavv team in Koei Shitmo. The polikore infection happened during all of this. Difference is that Koei Shitmo still has their braindead consoomer audience who keep buying into their censored shit consumer games but Marvelous was never that "big".

Funny thing: look at my post history from when RF5 wasnt released yet and I listed it in my anticipated games. And then RF5 happened. None of those games turned out to be especially good, ranging from ok(kiseki/SmtV) to outright disaster(rf5, xb3). Retarded of me to expect anything good in this era I suppose.

I do keep saying it's possible they are going to bring it back. Because of the end of the year visions from all the gaming company directors and writers for 2024. There was a confirmation of a new numbered Neptunia release followed by Senran Kagura being teased by the scenario writer.

I will say if this ends up being false I will be upset as well. But it's highly possible that it is Senran Kagura. I thought SMT V was solid but I can not blame it too much due to the Switch's hardware gimping it much like it did with Rise. When Switch 2 releases it will feel like a full scale console game.

Also ending off I will say though Marvelous is in trouble because not many liked the Story Of Seasons push with A Wonderful Life being the huge announcement but many fans were bored by that point due to the spam of Story Of Seasons and Harvest Moon. Followed by the underwhelming RF releases with the exception of RF3 Remaster but then again they did not allow you to romance the Dragon. Marvelous Needs Senran Kagura whether they wish to acknowledge it or not. They know it's the only thing that sells.

To be honest I am not sure if I trust anyone with Senran Kagura franchise anymore, maybe they will have the balls but I am not holding my breath. Regarding SMTV me as an oldfag who spent majority of my gaming life playing single player only games and not counting pixels and frames so stuff like that doesnt bother me. My biggest gripe about SMTV was the story/world setting, I had high too high expections after Nocturne and IV/ IV Final. Everything else was solid to me too.

I cant say for certain if Marvelous would be some big publisher if they kept SK alive, the market has changed a lot since SK glory days, especially in japan which used to carry these kinds of games, but I think they wouldn't have been in this position if they kept SK alive as a franchise along with mending the other issues that this company faces. They dont make games that sell millions nor do they make games that need millions to make so clearly they are doing something wrong here. I imagine in a perfect world, if they managed the SK franchise well and pooled together Frederica and Loop of Gods (or whatever that game is) budgets and made a faithful SK game then they wouldn't have faced this loss. Fashion Dreamer appeals to mainstream audience and women I guess, sold the best out of the bunch and still couldnt recoup costs apparently lol. Anyway even during their mediocre releases past couple of years they werent reporting losses to the point of taking executive pay cuts. Maybe a faithful SK could have prevented this, much more odds I would say than the other two (Loop and Frederica) bringing in any kind of money. Its all guesses and ifs and buts so who knows really, I am just mad one of my favourite franchises is dead.
