Happenings Marvelous removed Senran Kagura from their website. Fans are scorching them.

To be honest I am not sure if I trust anyone with Senran Kagura franchise anymore, maybe they will have the balls but I am not holding my breath. Regarding SMTV me as an oldfag who spent majority of my gaming life playing single player only games and not counting pixels and frames so stuff like that doesnt bother me. My biggest gripe about SMTV was the story/world setting, I had high too high expections after Nocturne and IV/ IV Final. Everything else was solid to me too.

I cant say for certain if Marvelous would be some big publisher if they kept SK alive, the market has changed a lot since SK glory days, especially in japan which used to carry these kinds of games, but I think they wouldn't have been in this position if they kept SK alive as a franchise along with mending the other issues that this company faces. They dont make games that sell millions nor do they make games that need millions to make so clearly they are doing something wrong here. I imagine in a perfect world, if they managed the SK franchise well and pooled together Frederica and Loop of Gods (or whatever that game is) budgets and made a faithful SK game then they wouldn't have faced this loss. Fashion Dreamer appeals to mainstream audience and women I guess, sold the best out of the bunch and still couldnt recoup costs apparently lol. Anyway even during their mediocre releases past couple of years they werent reporting losses to the point of taking executive pay cuts. Maybe a faithful SK could have prevented this, much more odds I would say than the other two (Loop and Frederica) bringing in any kind of money. Its all guesses and ifs and buts so who knows really, I am just mad one of my favourite franchises is dead.

Marvelous is in trouble, so they need SK much like Sony is right now and placing bets on Stellar Blade with no cuts to fanservice. Also keep in mind for Marvelous, they are not Capcom, or SEGA where they can be held afloat by other franchises they tried it, and it failed especially Sony with it's premium movie strategy. But now Marvelous has to actually see if SK can get them back into prominence much like Sony has to with Stellar Blade being uncensored. They are taking a risk by going back to it, but if it sells very well it will prove that Fanservice is important and the industry will change back accordingly, it might even help Totoki who is coming in after Jim Ryan to make the case that to move the HQ back to Japan from California for once. I do have faith the tide is turning, but it is just slow and there is a chance.

Also I have played Nocturne, Soul Hackers, Strange Journey Redux,Raidou, Digital Devil Saga, IV/Apocalypse even Persona titles P4G, P3 FES, P3P, and most of the side games from P4 itself. I can say that IV is a just a unique title in it's story telling, and the way it's world works is interesting, but it is a one-off because usually SMT is not known for the best storytelling at times and the characters can be divisive especially depending on which path you end up taking.

SMT IV is the most reddit magnet i see for the game sadly like so much braindead fans hang round that game or nocturne alot and make some really low efffort and stupid memes too honestly.

Speaking of Marvelous and Story of Seasons, how is the latest Harvest Moon of Natsumi? It seems to have body types but apart from that I'm not sure if they followed Marvelous' pozzed routine in other departments or not. Does it put a whole load of foreigners in Japanese rural town and is alcoholic drinks being sold in the game?

I would like to hear about this as well. I do know it declined due to it not being the same team and that former HM team is on Story Of Season's which usually does average. But that's about it.

Well, I finally got around to playing it and first thing I noticed is that it doesn't have body type calling, it just shows you the preview and let you choose it. Will update after I got to actual farming.

Thank you keep everyone posted. It would be funny if even if it's clunky the translations are more accurate.
