I did not like the demo anyways, Nioh 3 is a very polished Nioh 2 and has aspects of Strangers Of Paradise, Rise Of The Ronin and Wo Long. Ki Pulse is better much more forgiving, but the main issue overall and I find very controversial was not only Type 1 and Type 2, but they basically say you can use Parry and Deflect which is extremely common in Action games, it does not use Ki(Stamina) to use and you can still get hit when enemy is Red, but the irony is they decide to lock it behind a "Tutorial Boss" and give the player Burst Counter Parry(Style Switch) only when the enemy turns Red for a huge stun damage to health, which while good, is false illusion of difficulty. Because it's the old school mentallity of the PS2 days that Restriction = Depth and Konjo(Spirit) Death Games = Great games. There is an irony in the sense that Nintendo and even Fromsoft themselves when making games never locks basic features behind a boss fight filter, they give you all the fundemental movesets upfront and it is up to the player to use those moves and skills correctly against bosses, enviroment or enemies they never would choose to lock any basic aspects behind a boss filter. The systems are extremely balanced that they give you everything upfront, but it is up to you, to follow through, Nioh 3 just is not that and I think that will severely hurt sells over time as this series moves onward if that is not addressed and become a thing that will always live in the shadow of Fromsoft or become a literal "who?" game due to that reason.
I just dislike when games tell you, you can use 350 moves, or you can use Deflect and Parry as common moves, but then decide 349 moves are useless or Deflect And Parry are casual and then lock it behind a tutorial boss on a whim. This also sadly was a thing in Ninja Gaiden 4 and reminds me of games where "You can only use Y button against Yellow enemies, B button against Red Enemies" with Blood Raven compared to Ninja Gaiden 2 or Ninja Gaiden 2 Black. Ninja Team just really do not understand core gamers in the sense of balance it's just artificial difficulty and restriction pretending to be fun death games.
