Well, this is not surprising on the slightest. For years other platforms like patreon have been censoring artists and game developers (especially if they happen to draw anything anime related), and the people who are getting affected by the onlyfans censorship, not only didn't speak up against it, they encouraged, they celebrated it, or they actively participated in online witch hunts against said artist. Do you know how many times I had to see twitter e-thots with onlyfans on their pin start a moral crusade against some hentai artist? Do you know how many times I had to see people/media outlets that angry over this constantly make tweets or articles pushing for the complete elimination of any sort of sexuality in western video games?
This is the future you've chosen, freedom of expression on the west is dead, and it's just slowly creeping up bit by bit.

Now, besides from patreon and all other platforms completely fucking up hentai artists for years, not long ago when payment processors completely de-platformed Porn-hub with zero repercussions whatsoever, that did set up an important precedent on how much power and control they have, and that nobody can stop them. So expect more bullshit like this happening soon. And it's all done with the same old trick THINK OF THE CHILLDREN

I guess one good thing that could come out of this is the push for mass adoption of crypto currencies, after all they are an uncensorable alternative to classic payment processors such as credit cards or paypal.
Pretty much all censorship on artists and now porn comes not from governments but from payment processors.

Of course crypto alternatives to onlyfans didn't let the opportunity go by. So in every tweet about only fans banning sexual content you will see people shilling said sites, now if they are actually a real alternative or a scam, I have no idea really, I didn't test them and I'm not going to.

For all the ones who see this as another case of censorship that should be opposed on principle, sure, I'm right along there with them. Good to see them turning up to the hill some of us have been trying to defend all along.

But somehow I suspect most of them can't see beyond self-interest. There's no chance of a consistent stance, they'll just take whichever side benefits them the next time it might threaten their incomes. And on that basis, I have no problem with a blanket ban.

From a business standpoint it seems like this is a terrible decision. I mean the entire site is known for its use as a porn site, so alienating your core demographic seems like you're just asking for the website to die. There's probably some fishy sh*t going on behind the scenes that we don't know about.

^While this might be a reason for the ban, It seems a little too far fetched for it to be true. Plus why take the risk of killing one site to resurrect the other when you could just stick to running the original sight better.

Did I miss something being confirmed? All I see there is Mastercard saying they aren't responsible. There's nothing to rule out Visa or any of the other payment processors that are not Mastercard, unless there's some sort of exclusive deal where everything in OF's operation goes through Mastercard.

They made it clear it was a decision due to mastercard(mastercards new policy comes into play on oct) and OF mentioned policy changes had to be made before Oct. OF is the only one reacting like this when other porn platforms arent budging and some even saying they have confirmed with mastercard that they pass these new policy changes. More people are pointing to the half a dozen interviews with OF about getting away from porn so they can attract celebs, literally the day before they announced this porn ban they released a completely SFW onlyfans app.. So something obviously disingenuous is going on here.
