The entire Chapter 404 of Rent-a-Girlfriend was censored by Kodansha in its official global manga app, K-manga. The only way for Western readers to read the uncensored chapter now is either via fan translation or to hopefully, the compiled volume in which chapter 404 is included comes uncensored. Side-by-side comparison to the uncensored Japanese original below.

I'd like us all to step back a moment and just take in the spectacle.

Someone censored Rent-a-girlfriend. They read this degenerate, fujoshit slop and their takeaway was that the girl's shoulders are too risqué. Not the masochism, not the financial domination, not the prostitution but the nude adult female body.

Imagine the degree of absolute spongeform brainrot required for that. It's truly stunning in its intensity

Asked about this censorship, Kodansha explained to Bounding Into Comics that in order to comply with the Android and IOS Terms of Services, they will have to make “unavoidable modifications” to content on the K MANGA mobile app.
The blame falls on Apple and Google's anti-fiction policies. Any inconsistency on K Manga's part in regards to what is and isn't censored is because of the uncertainties of compliance. K Manga has been like this since its launch.

Although, it's worth noting that in the following paragraph of the 2023 BoundingIntoComics article, the journalist stated,
Kodansha did promise that the desktop version of K MANGA would remain uncensored, but as of writing, this alternative remains in development.
Of course, Kodansha failing to keep their promise for an uncensored desktop version is their own laziness/weakness. However, the censorship itself stems from compliance to Google and Apple's anti-fiction policies.
Edit (added speculation): In regards to Kodansha making an uncensored desktop version, advertisers' anti-fiction policies could make it harder for K Manga to do so. K Manga relies on ads as a way to earn money. In K Manga, points can be earned "as rewards for viewing third-party advertisement videos displayed on the Apps."[1] We should know that Google AdSense applied restricted ads on Automaton Media's article on the ecchi video game Hebereke Bunny Garden. Google AdSense even restricted ads on unrelated articles by Automaton Media because they were linked together with the article on Hebereke Bunny Garden under the "most popular articles" section of the site. Therefore, Kodansha may consider it safer to excessively comply and avoid making an uncensored version even outside of the anti-fiction IOS and Android app stores.
