So the article I found today from Anime Corner reveals that Russia has banned anime that is isekai. Three titles were mentioned which was Konosuba, Reincarnated as a Slime, and Zombieland Saga. This comes recently after Russia banned Death Note and years ago Fate Kaleid Prism Illya series. Strange. Because I was watching Konosuba yesterday.

As I read, they were only eliminated from the sites where minors can enter and it is because they promote suicide, that is, it makes the youngest believe that if they commit suicide they can appear in a fantasy world. Russia Banning Isekai Anime: Reason For The Ban?​

On Monday, the Russian district court of Saint Petersburg announced a total ban on five isekai anime series. This came under Russian federal law for the protection of children from harmful information. The anime series that were taken down include KonoSuba, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, Zombie Land Saga, Nekopara, and Princess Lover!.

The announcement came out on the court’s official Telegram channel. The official press service of the court says that the decision of ban came under the considerations of experts. The court also mentioned that the evidence of one believing in the concepts of a parallel world is highly visible in the anime audience. Moreover, the court stated that KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World! promotes reincarnation beliefs projecting a wholesome world after one’s death. They portray life after death to be adventurous and magical. Hence, this can lead to people inclining towards the afterlife more.

To be fair anime isn't meant for children. But very drastic measures to take. Feels more like a excuse to ban it more than anything.

Certainly, instead of prohibiting what is an artistic freedom and a right of all, you should simply give more pressure to parents and distribution sites that take stronger measures with the presence of minors.

Just incompetent/unwilling people trying to justify their work by doing something. Instead of addressing the actual issue of children meeting Truck-kun to meet their waifus, it's easier to just try to prevent them from watching the waifus.

Instead of solving a problem of course they use a scrapegoat.
