A mod that only somewhat uncensors the game and is made to encourage people to add onto it.

HOW TO INSTALL
- Just drag the files into Steam\steamapps\common\Skullgirls\data01. This will replace the existing files. If the new update borks this mod I'll try to fix it, but tbh I'm just one guy and I'm not good at modding.

WHAT THIS CHANGES
- Mostly uncensors the art gallery
- Adds removed guest art
- Mostly uncensors story mode cutscenes, artwork, portraits, ect
- Uncensors Double's character select portrait (which is covered by character counter but still)

WHAT I COULDN'T CHANGE
- Can not add Big Band's Death Scene 2 in cutscene
- Can not change Filia's Ass Grope in cutscene nor in Art Gallery
- Can not change pallets
- Can not add Solviet Announcer
- Can not change the combo sayings back to Spiffy (16), Milqtoast (17), and Barely Legal (18)
- Can not modify the sprite animations

WHY CAN'T THESE BE CHANGED?
- I wish I could change these, specifically the cutscenes as they are easy to change. However, steam for some reason won't allow me to use edited versions of dev.gfs or ui.gfs as they are "not verified." This also means I can not change story mode art within the art gallery for the 8 base characters, since the cutscenes and gallery art in the first iteration of Skullgirls share the same assets and code. I'm not sure how to bypass this, honestly.
As for pallets, the unmodifed versions do show up during character select, but they do not appear during gameplay and I'm not sure as to why.
When it comes to editing animations, I am at a loss on what to do, as some files I can't unpack with SkullMod 2 and I am not sure how to do so without it. I am not an avid moddrer/programmer and the most I'm doing is unpacking files from the old Endless Beta and repacking it back into the main game. If not that, I am
editing new art to be consistent with the old art (eg. adding arm bands to new cutscenes and NPC art.)
This is the best I can do on my own, and I hope this encourages people to add onto what I have done. Please share this around.

This is just me spitballing but I wonder if there's a way to load modified files through the art gallery. Like, a messy way to go into a modded version of the game by clicking an added piece of "art" that runs code to bypass the censorship and load modded files steam won't let me use... Idk if I can do that though but if theoretically I can run any file through the art gallery, could I run a thing that enables mods..? I wish I was smart enough to do this honestly...

It didn't work as expected cuz I'm dumb, but it's a start. I tried to load an edited version of ui.gfs through this but it just crashed the game... Anyways I thought the thumbnail was funny

Thing is I'm not working on it full time as I have to do other things. I'm hoping that more people add onto what I do and try to break the game enough to fix it again. I know that's wishful thinking though so I'm trying to see how I can break it myself, though so far I've had no luck. I hope this works out though as I genuinely don't think Hidden Variable and Future Club will undo the censorship. :konata_cry2:

Can you just upload the patch for High Sea version then?

Oh man I honestly haven't been here for awhile and only checked my email to see a notification from this. Like I said, I didn't plan to work on this full time as it was meant to encourage people to try to build upon it since I'm not an avid modder or programmer (it was shared on 4chan once or twice by some anons but other than that it amounted to nothing). As for the freak out, later on I learned it wasn't from steam but from the game itself, as MikeZ made sure everything was encrypted and can't be fucked with. If fucked with, the game will not let you play it. The encryption was somewhat bypassed by some guy who made SkullMod (which I was using), but since he got C&D'd by Lab Zero (if memory serves right), the most i could do was texture swapping.

In short, high seas or not, I can't fuck with it, especially since I'm not a high skilled programmer who can crack encryption. I wish I could do it but this was made to encourage people to build upon it (which never happened).
