Sperg sends death threats to publisher over constant losses

A university student fed up with losing while playing Mahjong Soul resorted to sending the game’s publisher, Yostar, death threats, thinking that would accomplish something, but only concluding in getting the disgruntled individual referred to prosecutors.

Charged with suspicion of forcible obstruction of business, the 22-year-old college student of Tokyo’s Nihon University had written a hateful death threat to the Japanese branch of Yostar, a Chinese publisher.

Back in May 2022, the accused made use of the contact form available on Yostar’s home page and issued the frightening sequence of words, and since, the individual has confessed to the crime. They explained the message was made out of anger after nonstop losses in Mahjong Soul.

Yostar sent all its employees home early after being hit with the death threat, out of respect for their safety.

The publisher was sent threats of arson through an email and a post on a message board back in June 2021 and March 2022, and the suspect of this most recent matter implied involvement in those previous cases.
