texas representative matt shaheen mentions goblin slayer as part of "obscene" material that should be banned from school libraries in texas, part of the republicans crusade to ban all homosexual/lgbt content.

I agree that kids shouldn't have access to certain material in schools (they should have to get their parents to sign off to access it) but this clearly is going to reach beyond what schools are allowed to stock, shaheen and his bitch-crew mentioned going after the vendors of the material. If goblin slayer is on their hit list then yen press, rightstuf or amazon could be targeted, that would only worsen censorship by making the media unavailable everywhere.

I bet this is related to a current ongoing effort by the conservatives to ban porn, they want everything except playboy mags labeled their retarded "I'll know it when I see it" obscenity laws.

This is why my political affiliation is independent, both goddamn parties want to tell my adult ass what I'm allowed to read/watch, eiher it's boring ass tom brady or fucking trans women.

Assuming it was actually in a school library, the last I heard Shaheen never showed the copy or even mentioned what school library it was in, just that it was in one; as far we know he could just be talking out of his ass and using a pre-provided book/vendor to target handed to him by any variation of NIMBY organization. Honestly? I can't really judge. Everyone my age back in high school were trading DVD copies of Elfen Lied to one another, I myself read Gantz and Berserk at around fourteen through Onemanga; shockingly, I survived and have never murderraped anybody. All this does is create one extra step in an era where you can just download Tachiyomi through your phone and read all of the hardest core of eromanga you want; as schools increasingly require smartphones for schoolwork nowadays, it's far easier and faster to just look it up Goblin Slayer through apps.

It's in the nature of a young lad to want to read things with tits and hyperviolence and God forbid a boy be a boy and grow up straight. Shoutouts to the based as fuck kids who read Goblin Slayer.

Texas already brought criminal charges to a vendor over Legend of the Overfiend back in 2000, those good ol' days just before 9/11. Look up Texas v. Castillo back in the 00s, and proceed to get legitimately pissed. These "people" (if you can call the spiritual void that exists where a politician is a person) aren't your friends and the last decade of the most degenerate of weebs (the funniest material came from the allthefallen pedos) thinking they could court conservative favor and simultaneously control it has been absolutely absurd. Most of the right isn't Libertarian and was always only ever going to use Otaku culture as a tool to politically groom the minds of frustrated young men discarded by a overwhelmingly Leftist society. That's just the business of politics though, it's not personal.

Small selection of comics on the chopping block. I appreciate V for Vendetta and Y: The Last Man being shoved in there for good measure.
