I can agree, people are willing to take on A.I Translations like DeepL above current day Translators because there is no higher standards or expectations like those who write manuscripts who would write it in an authentic manner than inserting memespeak and political things, or trying to dunk on the opposition for criticizing them on their checkered history. They are not professional in anyway and do not deserve to be authority figures or arbiters, they are plagiarists and larpers who are nepotistic at their core. They only exist due to connections, not due to having any real standards to translate the work even if it makes them feel uncomfortable. AI has zero emotions and tries to at least get to the core of what is being said, rather than writing around it or making up things that are false. The industry would like us to think we are away from 4kids or Gaijinworks, but we just have another version of it today.

I disagree with Shiravune being "woke" it's kind of telling you bring up points with no examples of Shiravune messing up severely or adding politics or memespeak. Perhaps because it's lies. I have read Kuroinu 1,2, i even read through Sakusei Byoutou and it's 3 releases, i have not found any significant examples of them messing up badly other than they tend to have the random sentence fragment at times or a few word misspellings. I am wondering if you are arguing in bad faith here.

I can agree with the VN community being much more caring about it's works especially alongside VN translation companies. The only exception is Sekai Project who let's be honest had a bias since the very beginning on being anti-lolli and also not fulfilling their promises on Kickstarter, especially when it came to 18+ Patches(Maitetsu being notable). Nekonyan is slightly behind them but that is because of their huge collapse of Nukitashi which needed a whole unofficial translation team to go in and rewrite everything to make it feel more normal that is hosted on VNDB. Visual Novel types have their own communities, their own teams, their own programmers etc that can fix things. Sadly in other Video Game focused industries we do not have this type of thing except for more Retro Games.
Here you go my dude:
Example 1: https://www.sankakucomplex.com/2023...memes-politics-and-questionable-translations/
Example 2: https://www.sankakucomplex.com/2023...-nukitashi-2-translations-with-more-politics/
Example 3: https://www.sankakucomplex.com/2023...ting-politics-in-criminal-border-translation/

There is plenty more of it, I can dig it up, but I think this is enough to prove the point.
You bring up Nukitashi, but Nukitashi was Shiravune, not NekoNyan as you can see in my posts.

I confused Nekonyan for another translation because they did similar in the past. The Nukitashi series it was the same person behind Chrono Clock from Sekai the same editor which is a rarity in a rarity those titles are heavily botched i will not even defend that for obvious reasons. But to say Shiravune always inserts politics is wrong, it's just they do not have that much better of standards for lower tier relesses and rushes them out without much care is a better way to say it.

1. Global Audience = American Audience, through the lens of a dozen People from the California Bay Area telling Japan and everyone else in America how to think.
2. preserving context and inclusivity can not coexist this is doublespeak terms. They are incompatible with one another.
3. Localization is not about translating words? Translation is apart of localization and oh wait what do I see here “It’s about readapting For a "American Audience" that only San Francisco Bay Area kids can feel comfortable with praising and not buy.
4. "Preserving the vibe is key" Well what was that in the earlier thing about adapting for an "American Audience"
5. "Gameplay elements need a cultural remix" lol so it's not about preserving the vibe, it's not even about consistency, it's just about remixing everything to what they think the casual audience will buy. Which will fail like always.
6. Cultural Sensitivity, Inclusive Language is the most interesting one because this means Capcom uses SBI, and the earlier statements about "Preserving Context" is a lie. This means they will tell Capcom what to do and that Capcom will precensor before hand. So get ready for RE5R(which is one of my favorite titles) to be absolutely derailed.
7. Humor just means they will navigate away from jokes they find uncomfortable but everyone else does not mind and try to make up their own meme translations. Get ready for 4kids and Gaijinworks tier avoiding the joke or making up their own jokes that pretend to stay true to the original.
8. Consistency with Terminology. Get ready Latin Americans, Japan, China and SEA types, you will be unable to escape the censorship or have your own version free of it. They will get the same script we do, and ultimately have to try and write idioms around it, that is if the American Branch allows it.

Capcom is absolutely going to head into bankruptcy again because there is no unique title like Monster Hunter World to save them, they are almost out of REmakes, and they are betraying their core audience for a new casual one, also Pragmata i expect to be completely messed with. Which i was really looking forward to. After Dragons Dogma 2 and avoiding that bullet i have decided to do a rarity and put Capcom on the Ignore list including SEGA on Steam. Let's see how they fare without their core audience by betraying the Global Niche from SEA, Latin America, Japan and even minorities in America for their pretend make believe insular world view of diversity and inclusion with Global Mass Market. I am sure they will do just fine. Localizers are never wrong after all and never have made mistakes for the last 30-40 years of this :kyoko-smug:

Found the fan translator for the Sakura Wars games defending this shit, in case anyone is still under the impression that fan translations are the solution to this problem.

This is just like Noisypixel they are naive, they will not hate on it until it's something *they* like getting ruined. Also the huge takeaway is the fact he is biased but pretends to be neutral on the subject. This is someone who does not understand the industry inside out but only the functions of an industry. Guy has too much high trust and a lack of social understanding of what is going on.

This interview featuring a Capcom translator from 2014 discussing Street Fighter II (1991) shows that very little has changed regarding the approach to localizing Japanese media and the underlying motivations behind it:

The main problem is this is like a Virus, when you do not remove the root cause of these problems eventually it becomes something everyone experiences all over the world.
