The problem isn't watching anime. It is making it your personality! I don't mean weebs that act like they are 90% Japanese mind you. I mean the people who make the fact that they consume anime their entire personality trait (especially when they only watch a hand full of popular shows).
Of course this applies to other fields as well. Coding, Comics, DnD, etc.
These kinds of people are extremely shallow/hollow and are easily groomed into things. It's kind of a funnel and effect of actual fans gatekeeping them from the hobbies. Insted of letting them join your Forum, Discord, etc. they will go to the first place accepting of them, which obviously is a trooncord server (especially if they are underaged) that gets them to troon out.
It's not the root cause, but the bread crumbs leading the simple minded to the trooning.
There are a lot of things I can agree on with Josh, but his stance on anime is just plain ignorant and probably stems from a bad interaction hed had once on the blockland forum.

There is a sizable amount of people who like anime fandom (and the other troon vulnerable ones) that are on the autism spectrum or another form of underlying mental disorder which are easily drawn into the sirens song

Honestly people just need to keep their kids of Groomcord/Trooncord and the problem will be solved. The sheer amount of grooming going on there is insane! Especially when you think about how everything is unencrypted. And I can guarantee you there is at least one discord employe saving all those groom DMs and beating his meat to it.
