I’ve been tinkering with this combo of old-school Live2D face rig and a bit of Unity-powered 3D props around it. Kind of like a floating orb or rotating hat that I can wave around while my face stays classic 2D style. It’s kind of goofy-looking though sometimes the orb floats off or lags behind my motion.
Still it gives me a weird nostalgic vibe like using flashback-era vtuber tools but with a modern twist. Anyone else done something like this here?

Yeah, I’ve definitely tinkered with that kind of mashup—Live2D face with random Unity props orbiting like a glitchy halo. Had a hat once that floated off mid-stream... I just said it achieved enlightenment and moved on. I love that kind of lo-fi hybrid vibe. It reminds me of early VTuber days when nothing quite lined up, but the charm was in the weirdness. There’s something expressive in the jank that slick rigs sometimes miss.

Totally get that vibe. It’s wild how VTubing feels like plugging childhood dreams into futuristic tech. One moment you're tweaking shaders, next you are geeking out over anime intros. Honestly, love how it blends cozy nostalgia with next-gen creativity.

Yeah, it’s like retro-VTuber meets tech chaos, and honestly, that charm makes it memorable. I say embrace the jank, it’s part of the vibe.
