What anime do you wish never existed?

For me this isn't even a question. It's My Nigro Fagademia, to spite being incredibly mid it's a favourite among soyteens and hoodweebs.

I don't think it needed to exist and is an inferior sequel to an otherwise solid OVA
series. Armitage DualMatrix is my selection for the unnecessary anime category.

Jujutsu Kaisen without a doubt. It went from boring at the start to a waste of a manga by the end, nothing about it was any good but it pretended that it was. The number of idiots it attracted into anime is a big reason too

the anime is extremely good though, maybe the manga fell off but the anime is excellent

Without a doubt Naruto. Of the big three its the one with least merit and most detrimental effects. It normalized the "retard obnoxious messiah MC" as a staple trope which went on to ruin basically an entire generation of main characters. Particularly Black Clover and Fairy Tail were obviously damaged by Naruto's influence in the exact same way. Both have rosters of great characters that ultimately have to play second fiddle to a mentally challenged kid that logically should not have survived past the first season but is somehow actually the "chosen one" to save them all.
Even seemingly unaffected series like Jujutsu Kaisen feel like they were influenced by this trend in the sense that they make the most obnoxious and simultaneously least interesting character into the main character role.

I don't even hate most of the mainstream Shonen that led us to all these normies (DBZ, Naruto, Bleach, One Piece)... But I'm picking them, as they led to the normies and, more than likely, other normie shows like MHA, Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, etc.

But admittedly, that's solving only part of the problem, as inevitably an anime would come around where normies come in droves the same way as they did with these shows. So ultimately it doesn't help much.

Rent A Girlfriend. Irredeemable trash that's somehow gotten 3 seasons WELL before a ton of amazing anime has gotten even a second. The ONLY redeeming factor is that some of the girls are cute. Don't care, burn it.

Aku no Hana, though I'm partial of it even deserving to be called an anime with its rotoscopy garbage. There was a newer trash few seasons ago called something something ninja or whatever, which looked like rotoscopy, but afaik it wasn't.

Interesting posts in this thread thus far. I do agree netflix anime is usually aids and hyped by normgroids even the so called "good ones" thought they act as a type of retard magnet which itself is useful.

I think most popular airing bullshit like Chainsaw man or Dandadan are easy enough to ignore and thus we could do without.

Sequels to shows I actually like I consider far bigger offenses Like Slayers Revolution and Evolution-R or any of the VOTOMS OVA's. As well as movie version for series such as the Madoka films, or the TTGL films that just hasty chop the anime into film size and are almost undoubtedly a worse product because of it, japs love these for some reason.

Gunbuster, Darker Than Black, Goclin Slayer are a handful I never cared for but that easily falls into my preferences. I think I will cop out and say Bleach/Naruto as the unending droves of tyrones that watch dubbed anime(moderate basedness) add nothing of value to the larger picture of "anime fans" and I would rather not be assosiated with them.

The Girls' Frontline anime, it ended up covering the pretty boring beginning of the story before the story got changed from Kancolle ripoff to it's own thing, plus it had some really bad animation errors along the way, such as the infamous poorly drawn "m4"
