Look I dont like every piece of media "problematic" or not, and yes there is some stuff Ive found to be quite disturbing to me.
But in the end its just fiction, I know that so I just ignore it. Why, then do most people feel the need to gawk and screech and clutch their pearls when they see stuff they dont like. They act as if the mere existence of this piece of media is responsible for all the evils in the world.

And lets not get started on the clout chasers that know going and bashing that shit will get them likes and views, its specially bad when people I think are above that start doing it.
It really is all so tiresome :gura-pain:

Sorry for the rant just felt like venting a little:mokou-lying:

Last year I think, Japanese feminist were demanding that they get hired in companies as like "in house feminist consultant" or something.
Other than the western globohomo agenda and the clout chasing, some people seem to build their career on complaining.
And fiction is a treasure trove of problematic content for these people.

If a given piece of Media is given power and influence and propagates and its adherents and followers does things that harms other people those people will inevitably wish ill of the root of evil which was the idea contained in the media that harmed them. If such given piece of media has a global influence on the world then it it effected the world in some way or another.

(I had media like the Bible, the Quran, The road to serfdom, 1984, Capital, what must be done, Thus spoke Zarathustra, Atlas Shrugged, the kingdom of god is within you, Two Treatises of Government, Simulacra and Simulation, The Republic, and the great narrative in mind when I typed this)

I mean everything within reason.

If a piece of media is made with the explicit purpose of trying to affect the world, such as the examples you cited.(though Id argue that 1984 and zarathustra are more a refleccion of the author's perspective of the world and its up to the reader to decide wheter they agree with that perspective) then yeah it may cause harm.

The media I talk about is the one the internet loves to shit on like ecchi anime or the likes. And lets be real the only goal those works have in mind is to sell figurines and be fap material for weebs

Thats like telling a fish to try and breathe on land its impossible and people often lack impulse control on themselves.

Taking a principled stance against a piece of consumer media is the ideal low-risk/low-effort option for people who have to larp as freedom fighters to feel alive.
