Censorship Akiba's Trip DLC update censors 'trap' ten years after release

Thread Description
Retroactive censorship is a very real phenomenon

Might be time for everyone to turn off automatic updates, because XSEED decided to censor the game that originally got Tom Lipschultz banned from NeoGAF.

(Images from @BlackSilverhive on Twitter.)

Akiba's Trip: Undead and Undressed received new DLC ten years after its release, but under the hood a change was made to a text message sent by Eriko.

So far I've yet to see the original Japanese text, so it is possible (slim though it be) Eriko never actually called Misery a trap. Until such evidence is produced, I'm labelling this as censorship.

Some Steam users are showing their displeasure at the update.

Modern XSEED is probably of the opinion that trap is a slur, considering all the prounoun shit they are putting in their games lately.

Here's the original line. I'm honestly not sure that trap is the right word since that is something generally used for fictional characters, not as an insult towards real people online. If they are trying to capture the chan community reacting to someone claiming to be a girl then "tits or gtfo" would be far more fitting.

This is the new trend for devs. This is the third or fouth game this year that has done something like this. Keep a look out for any old game updating, it's probably the devs making random pointless changes.

From what I can tell, that was the only line that was censored/altered. Everything else looks the same for the most part.
