Before people talk about the anime adaption. That was made by studio Millepensee (shitty Beserk anime, shitty Spider anime, ulysses useless,). Whoever thought it was a good idea to associate god artist Range Murata's designs with studio Millepensee should fucking kill himself immediately.

A novel is read for yourself. And if you're not interested in it then you move on. The reason I ridicule the studio is not because I review things. Any novel or manga that readers are invested that gets an adaption, will find a different vision according to their thought. But a decades old rhetoric "novel and manga > adaption" continues to this day because modern anime prioritises systematic objectives rather than artistically driven pioneers of film, undeterred by whatever the contemporary peers and cultures cares about. The basis of art is usually some special collective feature shared in principal that invokes relevant qualities, themes, choices, styles. But if if its some merchance for trendy sales thinking it of a product for statistic success, meanwhile leaving the core character of works, then the rhetoric checks out. It does not really matter if you sell a work at 100 usd per volume like some smaller scale anime series, because what binds people's loyality is their identity with your work, and not patronising people who don't care about the series.
