I don't think I have ever been called dear or sweetheart over the internet, either earnestly or passive aggresively. Whenever I have a "discussion" with some idiot wokie they just call me the usual ists.

Although someone once called me a terf for defending someone playing the hogwarts game

i've used sweetheart and honey as sarcastic insults

the first use of these words i've seen were on tumblr, so honestly i've just treated about every linguistic thing that spawned from there as a way of insulting and belittling others

The key to getting away with insults like lets say on mal, is to be subtle and cryptic with it as possible and the more they insult you the more ammo you can use against them to get them to back off lol.
