So i remember seeing these old videos from clownfish tv ages ago lot of them talked about "prom themed" episodes of carttoons be it owlhouse or teen titans go shit like that, and lot of it really just goes as a projection and a point we often see in real life as it is online too where some people just have some sort of peak during school, and it all went downhill from here. (I never peaked a all in school, but i have peaked better off as a neet with no life or abilty to function at all outside of my hobbies or society at all whatsoever lmao.)

And yeah long story short these people who not only write wokeshit in cartoons, also have a fetish for proms too just as they do with aborted babies and killing family members especially male ones too.

So yeah not exactly a surprising revelation for some but i just thought i'd share this wild or not so wild thing i noticed and what do you think about this? let me know down in the comments.

I mean the "prom episodes" have been prevalent in cartoons for decades now, and not only with cartoons, but also tv shows, movies and even anime.

I think is mostly due to the target demographic more than anything else.

Also, I personally believe it may be the other way around, that the creators had a shit time in high school and now theyre creating their idealized scenario where their character (which as we know sometimes tend to be self inserts) gets to go to prom and become the queen or whatever they do (we dont have proms where Im from)

The whole "prom" theme is really an old American writing trope that refuses to go away, even when it's mocked or frowned upon by the "wallflowers" or outsiders. A recent example that I watched for curiosity's sake was Ruby Gillman: Teenage Kraken (please do not watch it - it's trash). One of the main plotlines involves the main character (Ruby) really wanting her crush (Connor) for prom night, despite the criticism from BOTH her and her crush (later in the film) that it's a "postcolonial patriarchal construct." (yep - that's their words, not mine) She still goes as a group "in protest."

I don't recall anime nor manga having something involving prom night at all, or really any other media from other foreign countries for that matter (besides Canada).

Prom is mostly an American/Canadian thing, from what I know, so that makes sense. The closest equivalent in Japan/in anime would be something like a school cultural festival.
And my god, that dialogue makes me want to blow my brains out. :akko_yay:

The reason you do not see this in all other cultures besides Anglo culture is usually due to Anglo culture being shallow and vapid. It's always about popularity, always about the big event, always about humor that is forced or ad libbed with the joke being explained 2 to 3 paragraphs with two characters talking to each other to explain the joke through bad exposition, plot points that are never coherent and make sense with wild conclusions. It's no wonder why everyone watches Anime, other content from everywhere else because it has a culture. This is not culture it's propaganda that only people who like this make it for themselves that nobody will care to watch for.
