b know something everyone needs to ask themselves is, is the quality a person puts into the translations even worth the cost of paying more? Or is it easier to just hire a Neural-Network AI that can do the job better with minimal edits? Is what she really should be asking herself. Because the funny irony is she is basically outing herself as someone who does not work at minimum wage, is basically middle class and throughout this thread and even comments and examples she is putting out subpar translations and encourages deviations from what the script is saying to localize it with their own "Le Quirky Humor", Slang, and even overwriting Feminine Men. Which is not what the Customer desires, which is what everyone hates from Manga, to Anime to Video Games. It is a growing distrust and dislike from the holier than thou, localizer who pretends they are a minimum wage worker or are fighting for people like us, when the reality is they make good money and pretend to be broke, ask for more money, then put in less effort and do not care about the work they put in or listen to anyone.
For me I would just pay for AI, have some Editor from Japan/SEA who is bilingual look over it and basically work on it, call it a day. This is not something Katrina can escape from, in fact her and the whole clique basically accelerated it by gaslighting everyone that localizers do no wrong, and that essentially putting Trans on a Feminine Man is acceptable as long as it's convenient for them at the time. Alongside Bandai Namco, SEGA of America both defending them and doubling down for the Modern Audience, which has backfired immensely. I can not wait for the AI to take over all the localizations and all the companies just basically translate everything within two clicks or less for all the old works, and new.
