Discussion Random game/gaming thoughts that don't fit in other threads.

since this is random thoughts i wonder why is it that a lot of ""gamers"" love remakes, specially when 90% of the cases the remakes end up being inferior to the original.

is nostalgia such a strong force?

is it people trying to revive that old flame they had?

i don't really get it specially nowadays when remakes mean only bad news
Those who follow the "inflooencers" have no brain. Too many clapping seals on the internet. Markiplier plays Balatro? Balatro sells millions of copies. Markiplier plays solitaire on an ipod? Normies buy up all ipods. Markiplier plays with his own shit? Normies buy up all his shit sold in jars. This is why normies ruin things. They would rather be told what to play because actually making a decision on their own requires more than a single braincell and that is too much aka cognitive economy.
Why do you think Soyny still sells games, albeit less than ever? It is because idiots still trust metacritic and never look at anything else.
Back in the day it was only dedicated gamers recommending in good faith to other gamers. Gaming, manga, anime and hentai need to be made unpopular again.

I think the Blue Ocean and Modern Audiences are to blame. They do not play what they like, or do things they dislike or pretend to like something, only because a popular person does or it's popular in the moment. It's due to outsourcing their whole entire mind to the internet and personalities and E-Celebs rather than thinking for themselves or just finding what they like despite the fact it may not be popular like you mentioned. They barely use their minds and for that they are the worst.

As for these niches like Games, Anime, Hentai, Manga, etc. I think the best thing possible that can be done is to push these Blue Ocean types into other things. For example.

Video Games > Move them into Mihoyoverse(China) or Blue Archive Nexon with Gacha(South Korea) which has been happening recently or to West with POE2 with Live Service Games. A lot of them are casuals and love low effort games, South Korea and China are very much into that. Korea is Fanservice heavy, China is not(depending on if it's Non-Mainland). This will push a lot of those "I hate Fanservice, but i play games that are fanservice heavy" types out of Japanese Circles.
Anime/Manga move them into Manhwa and Gacha.

If we could push the Blue Ocean, Fake Japanese Fans, and even the unironic fence sitters who pretend to like Japanese Games but like to criticize it for Fanservice into China and South Korea it would be much better for us all. Yes the popularity of Japanese Content would be lower, but then it would go back to people who like Japanese Entertainment for what it is with Fanservice heavy, great story, and nice character designed content. Not these fake fans who buy things, then whine because it's not what they like. Also speaking of Sony, I think the whole reason the big budget AAA, Graphics Max, everyone will pay 70$ has been dying, just because American's are very price conscious and are saying that it is a lot of money, and would rather go to Gacha and Live Services for a lot less money as it's barely much money and time investment for them to get into for 30 minutes to an 1 hour a day or so. Plus you also have Call Of Duty losing it's exclusivity and Microsoft owns it which means everyone is going to use it on Gamepass than going to go on Sony platforms. Basically Sony is in trouble because they relied heavily on exclusivities and thought that they could survive on Live Services, when those services work beyond them.

if I could push a button and kill everyone who saw their first Type Moon property after the twin towers got bombed I would do it

Why is that? Can you explain what is wrong with Type-Moon Fans? Or how it has changed? For someone like me I managed to get into Type-Moon things through Fate/Zero and Kara No Kyoukai(Garden Of Sinners) basically 10 years ago in 2015. Did Fate/Go change it all and it became worse?

Most of them are secondaries who haven't played the VNs and just play the shitty gacha or watch the animes. They usually also defend the censorship of the sex scenes.

sorry JX but you'd be caught up in the killing wave

if you don't know how incredibly different fate/go is from tsukihime you obviously have not played tsukihime and frankly cannot go around calling yourself a type-moon fan. In my opinion you're an anti-fan, the anime equivalent of a jew. You like everything that I hate about Fate, and you hate everything I like about it

You know how a lot of western RPGs have been allowing for full uncensored nudity lately? Like Balder’s Gate 3 and Cyberpunk. I wonder what would change about JRPGs if Japan embraced a similar attitude. Persona 5 specifically I think would have actually benefit from allowing nudity. Kamoshida’s dungeon would feel a lot more fucked up if there was more explicit imagery and if his shadow was straight up naked instead of wearing that dumb pink thong. A lot of the humanoid enemy designs would look better too if they didn’t have to worry about nudity censorship.

But then with things like all the fan service scenes I wonder how those would change. Like the scene where they’re in the desert and Ryuji gets a peek at Ann and Makoto’s chests and bras through their shirts, would that still be there or would there be a more explicit scene where we just straight up see their boobs? Would there be MORE fan service scenes if they didn’t have to worry about nudity restrictions? Would all the romance routes end with a sex scene? I genuinely wish I could travel to an alternate universe where Japanese media in general was a lot more relaxed about nudity and sexual content just to see how different things would be.

Unfortunately Japanese games can't do that unless they fight the CERO rating system or make them PC exclusive. Nudity is allowed by ESRB, but it's not allowed by CERO. It's a shame that they never fight stuff like that.

And the fact there is a MASSIVE double standard, I mean steam will ban Japanese games at the drop of a hat and the twitter trannies will scream for days over the slightest bit of skin. (I mean if you want to play Japanese games, for a lot of them you have to mess around with and do some hunting for decensor patches, where it is just way too much needless trouble involved) Honestly at this point Valve is causing WAY more harm than good.

>sending normies into blue archive or south korea

fuck off m8 i just found these greener pastures, im not about to give those fuckin leeches an inch into it specially not a great story like blue archive.

im fuckin done with japs it's obvious their country and culture has become nothing but a vassal state to retarded westoids with how much they have bent to please the axe wounds overseas.

as for china, i honestly don't care

Greener pastures? Great story? Gacha's are basically fast food in the sense that 99% of the playerbase does not care about the story, the characters, let alone Gameplay. In fact most will press the fast forward button on dialogue, obsess over sexy lady #15030 and then bypass the simple and easy Gameplay elements and talk about rolling all the time. This is not to say good Gacha does not exist, but it's kind of obvious to someone like me that the normals like Anime Games, but clearly dislike the long form of Japanese Games. It makes sense to push them into ZZZ/WuWa and Blue Archive. Because it's obvious these types do not play Games and like casual experiences. South Korea and China provide that experience. Japan does not. They can screech all they would like, but nobody will care, it's why I suggested pushing them into South Korea and China. Because it's obvious these fake Anime and Japanese fans do not care about Japanese things, they just like the Aesthetic.

How is it a vassal state when South Korea relies on Japanese Artists to make their women, draw their art, or even push things on the internet? South Korea's porn laws are so bad, that literally they are reliant on Japan to make anything for them. You can go to prison for 2 years for simply owning porn, or looking at porn, or even downloading porn. Also something to keep in mind, South Korean parliament is cracking down on Gacha soon so your options are becoming less.

I just saw this on my Steam page and it made me so confused.

Why did Steam ban something innocuous like Tokyo Clanpool while allowing guro games like this? I know it depends on who reviews your game but the gap here is so blatant that it's ridiculous.

Valve sucks CCP dick so I am not surprised. (pretty sure that game is chinese)

Its the japanese games that get banned or require "offsite" patches

American media also always had a negative bias towards japanese games. I remember Baten Kaitos being shat on by the journos in the early 2000s. Even the GC version got censored outside of Japan. If you want to play it, there is a patch that restores it already.
