Surprised there isn't a thread about this so i may as well make on about it.

All i can really say is bruh, way to let your fucking greed get to your head and another reason why triple a gaming is dogshit these days.

Might as well list the number of game engines that haven't fucked the developers down below my post.

Unity is just another company, that got a huge boost during covid and has now started to return to their median value again.

Now many are calling Unity out and plea not to do this, but they actually couldn't care. Unity is one of the most used game engines to date and everyone could jump ship without making a dent. The backlog of games using unity is just too big and switching tooling is too expensive, so the top 20% will just accept it and make up for the lower 80%.

You now also have people screaming "Switch to GoDot, Unreal, etc." But they don't realise, that they should've done this years ago when the ex-ceo of EA was put into the Unity CEO position.

The worst thing coming out of this will the the sheer amount of Troon-Devs who will switch to other engines and try to implement stuff like CoC.

All I heard is, that some big companies got some under the table offers if they use Unitys in-house (bought not self produced) Tracking tool for apps and that some people were screaming (but no action so far) for a class action.

what does CoC mean

Code of Conduct. Essentially how to behave, write code, etc. in open-source projects. Of course it's often written by troons and lgbt's and is more about race and gender than anything. Theres often also some weird stuff like one of the BSDs banning the expression of hugging. Be it in text "*hug*", emoji, etc.
It's a cancer thats hard to remove, but would be easy to keep out.
