Proving again that a more semantic translation is always better than a crappy localization work.

I just love how they kept the misandrist dialogue in tact, but when it was time to talk about doing the same thing to women? Appearantly a woman is a "doll"...and oh, they have to specifiy it is the adult "blondie" because "don't hurt the 13 year old mercenary!!"...or 13 year old girls aren't women or something.

No seriously, I love how they dodged having the characters mentioning the word "women" here like the plague.

And seriously, what is wrong with Feri's dialogue that they had to change like that? Aren't you jokers about "gender equality"? So why when the game presents a line like "There's no distinction between men and women on the battlefield" you end up changing it just to avoid mentioning the word woman in an equality context?

And then they go around and claim that Japan "Is a bad place for women" when they themselves cannot (or rather don't even dare) define what a woman is.

The main issue overall is the fact that these localizers are always operating in bad faith and are just people who say these things in order to think they are appealing to females, and also simultaneously are free thinkers, they love the work and love it more than anyone else does. Now I haven't been around the FE fandom and I don't want to...but if they're anything like the Persona fandom I'd rather stay far away from engaging that fecal matter.

From my experience the western Persona fanbase are some of the whiniest and most sensitive children on the internet that just actively look for ANY inane reason to hate on characters and the writing and using the games themes as an excuse to hate on Japan and Japanese media.

1. They seethed at the idea of gender equality because deep down they're about "Whamen supremacy".
2. They want to keep the narrative that Japan is "misogynistic" thus they decided to hide that dialogue.

Interesting. This feels like a horseshoe theory situation, they’re clearly trying to come off as really progressive, but then make changes that are objectively worse in that front and doing harm to their own message.

If we were to follow their train of thought then it would mean women never were oppressed since they won't even be able to identify who or what is facing discrimination. These people are undoing civil rights in real time, and worse yet the law bends their knees to these malicious actors.

Multiple reasons.

1)Dogshit mods who love to enforce their shitty rules and ban people they personally don't like and not for rule violations also you can bribe them easily to be your own personal enforcer apparently to survive. So much restrictive rules after rules there too as well i get not wanting coomer threads but literally anything can fall under rule 7 now where somehow anything is controversial meaning if a mod doesnt like it then it gets locked for the lulz.

2)Circlejerks and cliques gangwarfaring each other on the forums especially on places like the forum games section where it really is just one shitstorm center for the most amount of beyond poinless lolcow drama to happen there. Also current events yeah back in the day its a pissing contest to see who could be the most self righteous asshole.

3)Lots of technical glitches and out of date stuff.

4)The community has shifted more and more to tourists and lefties these days too.

So thats just a tip of the iceberg.

I will speak for myself on MAL as well.

1. Every Review is just someone disliking the Anime because it's not what they like, not the merits of the work and they force themselves to watch it, thus giving negative ratings and making the overall rating system of MAL useless due to tourists. They end up being voted to the top due to what @PhantomXero1x mentions about circlejerking and everyone agreeing with each other. This is something I truly despise the most because it's very common for people to just dislike and create these groups to downvote Anime, upvote Anime, to become activistic than to rate things on what the show is and give meaningful reviews. Or weighting reviews to prevent this kind of metric from being easily influenced. I wish to see Anime, Manga and other things reach the top based on their merits and people liking it. Not because people just used the numbers game.

2. The interface is really old and awful and unintuitive.

3. The site news on the RSS Feed system is not the best, I do find it funny that MAL was bought and paid for but can not even have a functioning News section compared to Anitrendz, and it has a bad Library and interface compared to Anilist. Although I do like Anilist's sense of community features I do worry they might give way too much to much leeway in some instances on reviews like I mentioned above. Where the same cycle repeats and we are having to move to a new site.

The only redeeming factor of this site was that i was able to export my MAL data and get it over to Anilist. But I have no clue if i can export my Anilist data to other sites with the exception of https://malsync.moe.
