I think is a pretty safe assumption that a number of the users of this forum still use twitter to some degree.

My question is: what is it that keeps you using the site.

  • customer service is sometimes better on companies' twitter account than on their official website
  • it is the best site i know to check on what's happening in my area
  • it is the best site to contact the CEO of my local ISP
  • I try to check that hellhole of a website less often but getting rid of the muscular memory can be a pain in the ass

I have a Twitter account, but I'm mostly just read-only on it. I really don't care to engage with all the cancerous people on there. Probably like 80% of my feed is drawings of anime girls from artists I follow which is the main draw of the platform for me. Everything else is either tweets from VTubers I like to watch (you miss out on a lot if you don't keep up with them there) or the general goings-on in the weeb space. It's how I find out about a lot of censorship and localization-related stuff, so the place does have its uses.

With that said though, I'm not on there very much. Usually like 10 mins or less a day.

Thats the neat thing i don't i just collect art from the links on the discord servers i'm on and thats it since lot of the art from the Japanese artists are pfp worthy.

For news updates on gacha games. And before the API changes link gacha game accounts to twitter. Even then I do not post anything anymore or interact with anyone on twitter.

I closed my main quite a while ago.
I have an alt that I use to check out if there are any updates on things like server outages, post about new features, etc.
But it's barely worth it tbh. I'm currently going back to RSS, but more and more people stop using it (it might be a good idea to make a Twitter "clone" that uses RSS for following).

Thats certainly a unique reason, do they reply?

I havent heard of rss in a while now. Is it still supported?

Made mine many years ago, never really used it much.
I only really log in when i can piss off somebody, mostly North Americans.
So trolling?:shinobu_kaka:

I love the baz and love watching the shit show
Whats the baz?

To shill my art for that sweet sweet commission-bux.
Nice.
A little off topic but have you thought making a thread of your art here? We have a few artist that post their stuff from time to time. It doesnt have the reach of twitter, but you wont be worried that it may get deleted or reported.

I noticed that a lot of people use twitter to see art and follow artists.

I wonder if itd be worth it to make a thread about artists on twitter:anime-think:

It is! However less and less people know about it and more and more sites stop using it (there are some 3rd party ways of still getring it working though)
Also varis.forum has a RSS as I just found out. Probably because of XenForo.

basically I still have my account because I don't want to lose all the artists I follow, but I'm currently not using that account, I haven't logged in for months, and I'm currently using nitter to view any twitter shit so I'm staying pretty far away from twitter.

The bad thing about nitter is that you cant view anything that the op has marked as nsfw
