So a friend on a Discord gave me this little tidbit that makes a lot of modern Monolith Soft decisions make sense.

Now I see why.View attachment 22432
Not exactly how it works in Japan. Ask yourself how Atlus can still have fanservice Demon Designs despite SEGA being DEI or how Monolithsoft is still able to have fanservice outfits in XC1 along with DLC and XC2 with DLC despite Nintendo having 84% of ownership Bandai having 16% left in them and Nintendo moved it to 100% over the years. It's because companies can maintain autonomy unless the leadership changes or it goes through a reorganization. It's very complex when companies are bought out in Japan.

What most likely happened is that Monolithsoft decided to go develop XCX2 and handed off notes to Nintendo to do a remaster of XCX and add in an additional storyline for Lao. It makes sense that remaking a game would take away valuable development time and it's easier to remaster it.

While there is a mod of the Wii U version that uncensors the outfits, this mod unfortunately does not bring back the chest slider. Really unfortunate that the mod is incomplete.

I hope Japanese players will buy up the Japanese Wii U version to protest the global censorship, just like they did with TMS Encore.

Maybe don't reveal yourself as an undercover agent. SJWs can come to this site, and out you.

I thought that was something that was restored.
Man. Either way I will just have to track down the Japanese Copy somehow.

You can edit the chest size with some Gecko program. Otherwise, the modders didn't manage to restore it.

Similarly, the DLC in Tokyo Mirage Sessions wasn't restored in the uncensor mod, though that was likely due to Japanese language content that the modders had trouble implementing a translation in.

Didn't the Wii U shop shut down? I imagine it'd be difficult to buy that version outside of extremely overpriced physical copies.

The Japanese version is currently about $40 on Amazon. Japan doesn't have as big of a scalping problem as the west does.
Emulation could work as well. If I remember right on CEMU you could emulate the Japanese ROM, go into the character editor, then once you are at a save point past the pod, you then move the save file into the English Rom of XCX and it carries over, but it's in English.

I wished that shit wasn't this much of a pain to work around.

Emulation DOES work, but it doesn't send a message like buying the Japanese Wii U version does. You might remember back in 2019, Japanese people were buying the Japanese Wii U version of Tokyo Mirage Sessions to voice their disapproval towards the censorship of the Nintendo Switch version.

Clearly we didn't speak loud enough back then or else Xenoblade Chronicles X wouldn't have gotten the same treatment. Or well,I have the English WiiU Copy. I may just buy the Japanese WiiU copy somewhere if I can find it.

As for the Tokyo Mirage Sessions DLC,isn't the Epilogues all text? I really don't see how it would be hard to translate this compared to say a visual novel.

Xenoblade Chronicles X now has options to change many attributes of your party like name, height, chest size, weapons, field skill, arts and levels

You might have to reconfigure some graphic pack settings after updating since the name of some options has changed.

Great news looks like that in the latest version of the Graphics packs for CEMU has made it easy to do everything for your Character Editor within the Graphics Packs menu. CEMU XCX is now the best way to play XCX minus the after story.

Sorry to necro the thread but I really don't think this game will do too well.
I can see a huge beginning spike but also a huge drop off not long afterwards.

That and this game is also competing for time with Monster Hunter Wilds so really a lot of the Xenoblade Twitter really needs to be reminded that they are a niche fanbase and will never be Normie or Mainstream Tier.

Etika dying may have been the death knell for the fanbase.

I think Etika's death ruined the Nintendo fandom in general. The JoyConBoyz dissolved, and the SoyConBoyz took over.

Considering Nintendo's new and even worse stance they now take I am not holding my breath.
Yeah. I honestly feel like shit paying $65 on it when I felt more optimistic.
Synthetic Man is right. You get what you tolerate.

I may as well give up on Monolith Soft after this game.
