Shout it down online, whatever you do, call them out on it and do not allow them one inch into our Anime. Make sure they walk it back. We may not be able to do much with Video Games, but you can be absolutely certain with Manga and Anime we still rule it with our purchases.

Kind of offtopic I guess but its why I dont really see the point of say someone like Akamatsu Ken winning a seat as ldp politcian as any sort of win against censorship, not that he is incompetent but what can someone in power actually do in situations like this where creators themselves chop their own balls off? We know how this played out in video games and where we are now.

We know how this played out in video games and where we are now.

And I bet companies would be more receptive to the opinion of the author now after that scandal where the author of Sexy Tanaka-san killed herself because of the awful adaptation they did of her work, so now is the time to speak up and protect your property.

In theory they should, but unfortunately that incident itself was swept under the rug with a retarded "statement" from the publisher themselves.

I made the mistake of checking the quote tweets of the anime chara designer, and the quotes from the official and unsurprisingly only a handful of japanese were pointing it out (not even complaining), what did I expect when the original author himself is happily retweeting this shit, I guess the majority really do like being slaves of "muh global standards". I do think there is a point of Akamatsu Ken being in Parliament. Something you do have to realize is a lot of the Parliament is just older people basically Boomers and they do not understand Manga, Anime and Video Games as much as someone like him would. Having a voice inside helps bring attention to those topics over there whether it's censorship, game preservation and protectionism for Japanese industries overseas, he may not be able to have the ability to change things, but having a voice like it helps those in congress understand the issue to pass laws.

I do think this should be brought up with Akamtsu during a hearing on this subject in the future.

Yeah it is so strange. You hear complaints about censorship all the time from the western side (even though that is presumably who the censorship is aimed at), yet you barely hear anything from the Japanese side even though they are the victims.

To be fair you have to understand Japanese society is very insular they care about their own people, their own culture and everything outside of Asia is usually secondary. But i will say it's due to politeness culture and more or less is discussed behind the scenes than in public.

Appealing to everyone is impossible, and taking on that endeavor means that this will appeal to no one. It's ironic because international standards are nearly identical to Japanese consumer standards: keep the characters attractive and the story line entertaining. The only individuals supposed "international" standards appeal to is out of touch corporate share holders who aren't even a part of the consumer base.
