Drama Dragons Dogma II Character Creator downgrade.

Thread Description
When the sequel is a butchered version of the original.

@TheRandomMason @Utic You two better refund the game unless you support this practice. Because look at this GREED you are supporting. 3$ to change sounds, 2$ to have a Character editor, this is just that meme all over again as cut content to resell back to be DLC. Itsuno and Capcom should hang his head in shame.

EDIT: Also who is that steam curator? The fact they called out the height thing makes me want to follow them.
Crapcom and microtransactions go hand in hand, so none of this is surprising or new. The first DD had them as well. I'd have refunded it, or rather: I wouldn't have bought it in the first place, had it been any other game.

Let me also add insult to injury by mentioning that this game makes the likes of Starfield seem fairly optimized. The city area is so CPU-heavy such that if you don't have a top-tier CPU then you should probably just not play it. This is by far its most glaring flaw and should be the main focus when criticizing it.

The thing is the Microtransactions are worse than usual though, they are going for that Monster Hunter route which was heavily criticized and should not be in there if it can be obtained in it already, which looks greedy as a whole. We are returning back to Capcom being greedy again or more so and it being even worse due to everything being stripped and cut down from where it was originally. Also if this game can not run well in open world, then this is bad for Monster Hunter's next release which trailer does indicate it is going to be more open world than usual. People can make excuses that it's for Switch 2, so it will be downgraded, but the thing is Switch 2 is going to be as powerful as a PS4 so it will have open worlds even if it's basic. This is bad though because RE:Engine's main problem is the open world and this game exposed it as a flaw.

Yeah, I probably will, the only reason I wouldn't is that my little brother and I are playing through it together using each others pawns. For those who are interested in what JX is talking about, it released with a mountain of DLC available for purchase, but it's all items ( mostly consumables) you can get ingame easily with the exception of one that lets you change the music. I'll put a full list of the DLC and their prices (rounded up) for anyone who doesn't want to pull up the steam page.

a pack of camp gear - $3
the option to change music and sounds - $3
3 Harpy lure items - $1
a gift item - $2
item to change NPC companion behavior - $2
one single-use key to get out of jail - $1
a consumable that lets you edit your characters appearance - $2
a crystal that you can put down anywhere to make a fast travel point - $3
an item that revives you when you die - $1 each (you can buy 5 of them)
and the rest are varying amounts of Rift Crystals , a currency that was pretty easy to farm in the last game, priced at $1, $3, and $5 depending on the amount of RC

None of these are necessary in the slightest. The fast travel crystal is nice to have at the start of the game, but that doesn't excuse charging $3 for it, and I'm now curious about how easy RC will be to farm since there's DLC for it. I wouldn't put it past them to lower RC gain to try and push people to buy it.

The worst thing besides crashes, performances and even the character downgrade which is not full price at this point, is i think about this is selling so called "Essential Features" for cash and not even thinking about NG+. This game definitely is not worth full price at all and it's just overall a bad product really. Thank you for compiling it up though. I do think it came down to 40$ looking on Steam.

Yup, total for the DLC is $41.79

That's kind of misleading though. The insidious thing about microtransactions is that they aren't a one time purchase, you can buy them over and over again. That's how people rack up thousands of dollars of spending on gachashit.

Though actually I am not even sure if that's how they work here after looking into it. Are they more akin to DLC?

I wonder this as well. The problem is also that these things are farmable yes and there is many "items" they sell as a whole. The whole "you can get it in the game" does not stick because if this is true, why sell them individually with 15-20 items? Why not sell a item modifier where if you kill enemies your RC goes up more than usual and you can get all of these items instead for 5$.

Who the fuck runs this curator? I'm 50/50 on the black void thing since it was also in the original, but of course it is still censorship. However, no mention of the censored tranny scene, no mention of the various other dialogues censored at the source?

TGAAC takes place both in Japan and England. He just copy pasted his review from AA Trilogy and changed one word without even taking a look at the fucking game. I have a strong feeling this is just another Twitterfag who doesn't play games sucking up whatever bullshit lies """our""" side comes up with.

And of course, the best skill of the Warrior class is not available in DD2.
Arc of Deliverance or a similar skill simply doesn't exist in DD2.

This game is a joke. Censored character creation system. Nerfed armor system with fewer options.
All old classes have fewer skills. A huge part of the game is reused content from the first one.
Same animations as DD1 for basic attacks or skills, and also reused animations for enemies.

That's just sad, Capcom Execs literally screwed over Itsuno this badly. They did the SAME exact thing they did the 1st time with DD1. Most likely gave him RE:Engine that has not been proven to work in an Open World, and had to get this game out within a year of release and this is the end result. Itsuno needs to leave this company same way Kamiya and Shinji did. Trust me they will do this with Resident Evil, Monster Hunter Wilds. It's going to happen because they are incompetent and think a Game Engine can work on everything like Square Enix thought as well until they had to move to UE for their mainline and some SK engine for MMO.

I appreciate that it points out any crap game, unlike the sweet baby one, but yeah it's kinda weird
Like I don't think the guy knitting in the trailer is what's giving away that this is gonna be the worst piece of shit ever created

Does a 10-18 year old actually like this crap? Like seriously? Even the "resistance" graffiti on what I guess is supposed to be a cop looks weak and lame af. It's like watching a horrible caricature of carebear culture in video game advertisement. How could anyone look at this and think it's cool or awesome? It just oozes fucking woke activism just from looking.

Each of them are one time purchase only so they do work more like DLC than microtransactions

So it's not as bad as people are making it out to be. Still not something that should be supported mind you, but I find it more disgusting the amount of gachafags I've seen getting on their high horse over this while supporting something 1000 times worse.

TheRandomMason

varishangout.com
Something good they did that I just noticed, in the glossary for NPC's it does actually use the word gender, not identity or any crap like that, and classifies then strictly as male or female as far as I've seen. Now that doesn't even slightly excuse any of the previous points against them, but I thought it was still worth pointing out something they did right. Still doesn't excuse the egregious DLC situation.

I think what has made everyone mad as a whole is the fact that the DLC seemed to be more of a priority than fixing the game itself that maybe the game should have been a full game, than something that feels unfinished and rushed in certain aspects. It makes sense logically because if you paid 70$(10$ more than what a full game cost) and you can not get past the character creation screen and there is points where you lose your save data, and there is FPS spikes, the character creation is downgraded, but you see they put in extra time for DLC. Then i think it's fair to say people will assume that Capcom pulled the rug underneath them and are trying to push them to buy DLC indirectly. It also does not help there is speculation this was to meet a quota for fiscal year ending in March on top of it.

Ad in most of the armor on females is basically burkas

The main problem is it all looks the same and it's obviously a downgrade from the original DD1. Even the Fanservice clothing that is like 1-3 is generic and it looks like it's supervised by SBI. Capcom will need to begin adding more into the character creator to convince anyone it's worth using or worth buying.

Added in the fan service armor doesn't do much because they basically made the female body, a tranny body, there's almost no feminity in the female body, even if you play with the body sliders. The most egregious is that the hip, shoulder with, and abdomen width disabling you from hour glassing them.

I wanted to make a curvaceous pawn, think like Raikou from FGO. Since they removed the Loli option. But they sabotaged it, the "female body" in the CC is just the male body with tits on it. It's especially obvious if you know what a actual females waste and hips and stomach look like.
