As the title says, elon musk just introduced a "rate limit" for viewing posts daily.

Also it appears he is disabling the ability to view tweets without having a twitter account (a change I actually support)

As my twitter is rate limited I will be posting an image of the tweet I found from somebody else.

To clarify, it appears that looking at replies on a post also counts towards the post limit.

This rate limit also stops users from viewing their own posts on their own accounts aswell as likes and media. (bookmarks appear safe for now)

Twitter is completely over bros.

Also if he wanted money he should have said "twittard blue accounts can bypass the rate limit" but 6000 posts is not that much.

I am unverified and scrolled for a mere 10 minutes and then BAM rate limited.

He has increased the rate limit but this is still insane.

If my favorite artists did not mainly use twitter, I would not even have an account on that platform.

Edit: Would provide archives but can't even get a link to the tweet because of rate limit bullshit.

Edit 2: I want to clarify something. I believe what Elon is INTENDING is actually quite good, However as is common fashion with Elon, his intentions always get acted upon horrendously. Good idea, poor implementation. (The block circumvention is nice though)

I can confirm it is not mobile only as I am on my PC and have got the rate limit.

The only good thing to come from all this is the removal of block circumvention. Everything else is poorly done and I just found out is a coverup for them losing some sort of contract with google.

Telegram is a better source for that stuff. When the coup was attempted, the chef literally announced it himself on the mercs official telegram channel. idk what to think about twitter end , alot of shit start at twitter but sometime we can talk about censorship and won. without twitter which place we have for talking about censorship and share info , japanesse won alot with twitter and ken won with japanese twitter who against censorship.

I support it because it means blocking actually does something. Sure people can make burners but it becomes difficult to maintain it.

We still have easy access to archives because we can always get someone else to view a tweet for us and archive it also as long as we know the tweet url it can be archived anyway.

I just like the idea than without an account you are not able to view someones tweets. Means that when I block antis they can't go offline and scan my account. Makes me happy that I can just cut retards out of my space with no hassle.

It could impact archiving perhaps but I really do not think it is an issue.

We already get alot of tourists but I doubt it. Varis has a pretty bad rep among normiefags so most will stay away (thankfully)

That sounds like a non-issue to me. Why would you care who sees your tweets unless you are posting something incredibly stupid?

It is as simple as this.

If I block someone, I want the block to actually matter. If someone can just log out to view my tweets, then why even have a block button in the first place.

Keep in mind despite most of us having thick skin, people who go out of the way to target and harass people use circumvention all the time. There should be a measure in place so people can protect themselves.

Archival is very important however even if we archive stuff, people can report the archive pages for "defamation" or other things and get them removed from "archive today" and "wayback machine".

When I use twitter (not often) if I comment under a loli piece of art the antis just PILE UP, so if I block them then they just lose access to that.

It means antis can't stalk threads and posts logged off to make lists of people and say "these are all pedophiles"

So basically, a way to circumvent blocks still exists by using burner accounts while there is no way to properly archive anything. All in all a shit change
