Figures

Did not know this meme... But I have got to say I barely follow the meme world anymore.

The whole "Art is always controlled by wealthy people"is what I suspect modern art is for because it lacks reality or even something based or grounded in reality.
What is kinda sad about the whole figure collecting if you are from the west, it kinda feels like a scam by our own tax system.
I still feel like (at least with the cheaper figs) that more of my money gets to the creator getting figs strait out of Japan over giving money to some fucking localization company for an English version of a Manga or DVD.
I could be wrong, though it would also come down to what kinda deal the creators make, so some of the onus is on them.

Thanks for the heads up, havn't hear of this before. From what I read it seems to only happen when stored in hot conditions. I live in a country that is cold for most of the year so I assume this happening to me isn't that big of a chance, but still good to know.

Doesn't matter if you like in a cold environment. It has to do with the reaction of the plastics that are used. It happens faster with older figures, but it is still is present with newer ones.
"This plasticizer is naturally released over time, but can be hastened when storing the figure in hot conditions."
For the most part, you'd need to avoid exposing your figures in general to sunlight, even deflected sunlight will affect it.

Had someone I loosely know send me a message going "hay look, someone in your city is selling anime figures".
Had one look at the figures in question, went to myself "price is too low", look at another one, box is full of Art of the figure, I know Native have plain boxes, 100% all bootlegs.
:P
Happy I ain't a scrub that falls for that shit :D
